    Puppy panting

My 8 month old puppy has started panting for short periods during the night. I'll wake up to hear her panting and then eventually she'll stop. She has only started this week so I started thinking that something is wrong. I know dogs pant to cool themselves off but i have the air conditioner on and she has the whole side of my bed. She does seem a little more tired during the day and doesn't want to eat anything until nighttime, when she wants 2 servings of her food ( I usually feed her 1/3 cup three times a day). Other than that, she is not displaying any other symptoms. Would anyone know what this could be about?

Does she get hot pretty quickly? and is she afraid of loud noises and thunder storms that she may be panting nervously? What breed is she? I think a trip to your vet is in order.

If its an short-muzzled breed like my Reggie it may just be caused by humidity or tempreature because right now Reggie is walikng through my house pantimg. If its an long-muzzled breed i believe an trip to the vet is in order.

My Delilah pants when she's scared. Mostly when she hears loud noises. This can happen anytime of the day or night. Good luck with it

Kiri is not afraid of many things and it hasn't been thundering lately. But I find it strange that every once in a while, she'll start panting. She's a cross between a Shih-tzu x Bichon (I tried downloading a picture but it won't let me). And usually she's full of beans for most of the day but now she's lying down all day.

Because of that last sentance, I'd say a vet appointment is in order - a marked change of behavior can be a sign of illness.
