    Unhappy Godspeed, Rosie.

Rosie, our English bulldog, died the night before last.

She would have been two years old on Thanksgiving.

She was running around in the park, where we take the dogs to play. Nothing unusual, until she couldn't catch her breath, more so than usual. We got her in the van, and went immediately to the vet. My husband started CPR on the way, but to no avail.

The vet said perhaps a heart attack, or a congenital lung problem. We opted not to have a post-mortem done. To what end?

Godspeed, Rosie. By far the happiest, friendliest, sweetest dog I've ever known. She never met a stranger, never went anywhere, ate anything, slept anywhere or played with anything that she didn't absolutely love and jump in 110%. My son's three pound puppy could literally crawl inside her mouth, and did so, and Rosie just wagged her tail. A gentle lamb in a linebacker's body. The perpetual puppy, the 70 pound lap dog.

The house just is not the same. Rosie was the cult of personality in our pack, always the one underfoot, in your face, in the way. Always the curious, happy, friendly one saying, "Whatcha doing? Want some help? Let me see!" It's just unbelievable how much we miss that dog.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know there's not a whole lot to say in this kind of situation, except that Rosie is now in a place where she is healthy and whole and I'm sure she had a fantastic life during her time with you.

Take care, and continue to remember the happy times with Rosie. She was a very beautiful girl.

I hope there is some comfort in that she was such a happy dog because she was in a wonderful home with people that loved her and that she loved.

And she was playing until the end...one of the best ways to go, if she had to.

My condolences...may memories of this character bring you comfort now and in the future.

    I'm so sorry. It seems Rosie was a very happy dog in her short time here on earth. I'm sure she is spreading that happiness at the Rainbow Bridge. The dogs there will just love her. {hugs}

I am so sorry. She was so young to leave you. She passed away doing what she loved, being with her family and enjoying herself. You can be grateful for that. I know exactly how it feels to lose a dog in the blink of an eye, and one that you felt was completely healthy. It happened to me 11 years ago with one of my dogs. One minute she was healthy and the next she was gone. I know the shock and heaviness you feel. Your pictures and tribute are very touching. I feel like I knew her from them. ((((Hugs)))) to you and your family.

Rosie, what a pretty girl you were. I'm so sad you had to leave this world so soon But, you lived life to it's fullest. I'm so glad that you found so much joy in such a short time. Your family loves and misses you, as you brought them joy, as well. Now you can run and play all you want. Watch over your family from the RB, until you meet again.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

What an awful thing to have happen. You must be simply devastated. I hope that your other fur kids will be able to help ease your pain.

    Sorry

I am so sorry for your loss. A lot of people don't understand how hard it is to lose an animal that has been a family pet. I hope that you remember that Rosie is in better hands now and will be free of pain.

I am so very sorry. You have my deepest sympathies.

I love the way you described your sweet girl's personality. She sounds wonderful. I'm sure she is going to make lots of new friends at Rainbow Bridge.
