    A Mid-summer's night Thursday 222!

    What light in yon window breaks?

    It's everyone pulling into the driveway for another Thursday.

    Enter the halls of Thursdays, Break bread, eat, be merry...

    --------------------

    LOL, here come the jokes about breaking windows, bread and dressing up like "merry".

    Let me ponder the spritis that will be served this fair day!

    Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all -
    Together we stand
    Divided we fall.

    I laugh, therefore? I am.

    Yeh verily forsooth, what fools these mortals be that must ponder the spirits instead of serving them

    LH, go for it! My dad was in the Army in Korea in 1951. over a year ago now we wrote to the Army to get a copy of his discharge certificate so he could apply for V.A. benefits. He got a letter saying that his was one of many thousands of records that was destroyed in a fire in the 1970s, and the letter would serve as a substitute for his discharge certificate when he enrolled with the V.A. But maybe the Army has higher-tech means of storing records like that now, via computer, or micro-film or digital images. I was going to say the Army would burn it for you, but I hope things like that don't happen anymore!

    So, congratulations for your retirement, and best wishes for whatever is coming next (leisure?)!
    Praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine, and around the world.

    I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

    Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!
    Brrrr, I've been Frosted! Thank you, Asiel and Pomtzu!

    Better SAVE 'em, Fred!!

    Don't "trust" Uncle Sammy to even remember your Name - let alone when you served.

    MY Dad served in WW II - Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Corps of Engineers -
    built the US airfields on the Japanese Pacific Islands, then served for years in the Active Reserves ---
    ALL his records went to ashes in the Big Records Fire - July 12, 1973, the
    St Louis National Personnel Record Center suffered a huge fire on the Sixth Floor,
    but water destroyed military records on ALL the floors.

    Lucky for Dad's Military Retirement, and later for Mom's Survivor's Benefits -
    they had kept the originals of ALL Dad's military service records in the safe deposit box.
    Those personally saved records insured he and Mom got their well-earned retirement benefits.

    Here's a recent story about the 1973 Big Fire in St. Louis >>>

    So ... Lady's Human ...
    I'd hold off on feeding that fire ... you just might WANT those papers, some day!

    Feel not an Ill Wind - for none was blown upon thee -
    Surely its was the fault of the type-setter - and
    not the esteemed Author!

    Thursday Eve's upon me once again;
    A tall, cold beverage shall do me good.
    Iced tea, for it hath been a troubling day.
    A mango Mojito doth sound fine, though.
    Here, I have brought some fruit on which to munch;
    In summer watermelon is a treat.
