    Odd Behavior....Why?

For the last two weeks I've noticed this stange behavior. All my cats( 5
male, neutered, inside only) have started to use the same little box for their
pee. I have five boxs and before this they pretty much used them all. Now
this one box has to be changed completely every 2-3 days & before i only
had to do it once a week. All boxes are scooped daily with complete cleaning
once a week. Has anyone ever heard of cats doing this? and why, if you know.

Hmmm. No, I haven't heard of this happening. I've only heard that some cats like to use one litterbox for pee and another one for poo. Maybe they like the location of this litterbox or the smell of each others pee. At least they're using a litterbox because it could be much worse.

Lizbud, you might want to try adding some cat attract litter to the other litterboxes and see if this will get them to start using them again. You can buy is at Petsmart and they do carry it in the store. Here's a link about it: Cat Attract Litter.

I've been having peeing issues and I had to add 3 more new litterboxes. I bought the cat attract litter and put some on top of the old litter and now they've been using all of the litterboxes. This stuff really works. Good luck.

Well, something has changed. Your mission, should you agree to accept it, is to discover WHAT!

Perhaps something to do with the weather? A/c or fans?

Boys do like to be the LAST one to leave his scent somewhere, including a litter box. But as to why they have just started this, well, there is the question.

Doesn't matter how long they live with us, they always come up with something new!

Well, I've been racking my brain over this & honestly cannot figure this one out. Nothing has changed in the house, the brand of litter, or the placement
of the litter boxes. I'm starting to think they are having a pee
    contest or something.

I wouldn't worry about as longs as they are using the kitty litty litter. Maybe just use 2.And keep those 2 clean. Who knows?

My weird bunch have been doing the same thing. They used all of them, now suddenly they favor the two on the end for some reason. Who knows? As long as they're using them and not my furniture, I ain't complainin'.
    Blessings,
    Mary
