    Raccoon

Do you remember me telling about Troy, my duck, that got killed by a raccoon? Well we got a trap and caught it last night!! It was a live trap so the raccoon is fine, but I'm so glad we caught it so we can release it somewhere else out in the woods where it won't bother anymore of the ducks. It's a pretty big one and if you walk near it s/he will growl!! Talk to ya'll later, gotta go...

Wow, that's good that you caught it so it won't kill any of your ducks anymore. You'll have to let it free nice and far so it doesn't make its way back.
That would slightly scary going near it and it growling, yikes, keep your fingers away lol.

I don't know where in U.S. you're located but the racoon in my yard two weekends ago tested positive for rabies. Not a bad idea to at least call animal control and report it. Sorry to sound like a bummer but better safe than sorry.

    Hey guys,

I just read this and my grandpa & brothers already carried it about 5 miles away to release it. (lbaker, I just saw your post and so we didn't call any animal control places but it probably would have been a good idea.

Raccoons are cute and everything, but cautious around those things! Sorry to hear about your duck!

Perhaps it's a mommy with babies somewhere. I think it's wonderful that you will release it. But I would do at least 10 miles, especially if it's a mommy or she will come right back, best of luck to you.
