I pronounce it Dot-sund but I have heard it both ways.

It's supposed to be pronounced as Dacks-hund or Dox-hund. I say that latter.
They are not Dutch-hounds, Dash-hounds, Datsuns, etc. Lol...Having had Dachshunds throughout my life, it does tend to get a bit annoying when people continually mispronounce their breed name.

Dox-hund is how I pronounce it. But I usually try to stay away from pronouncing it and just say Doxie.![]()
