For both Nova and Buck I picked out their call names first and then wanted something to go with it for their registered name. I had a hard time with both of them.

Nova is a type of star so I wanted something to do with stars or space. One day I was browsing through websites and saw another dog named something like "Kennel Name's Out of This World" and I modified that to fit what I wanted. Her name is Simply Outta This World.

When I named Buck I asked the people here for help because I couldn't come up with anything. Tasha (Crazy-Cat-Lover) suggested Buck Naked and I loved it, I thought it was really funny. Nova is the name of my future kennel so I put that at the beginning and got Nova's Buck Naked.

I'm getting an ILP on Luka soon and I can't think of anything. I might need to get suggestions from here again.

I already have the call name and regisitered name picked out for my next dog. I have one picked out in case she is yellow and another if she is black. The mom is yellow but a sire hasn't been chosen yet (and the puppies aren't due until October) so it's still up in the air as to whether I'll be getting a yellow or black.

I like to keep things relatively simple with registered names. I, too, pick out a call name and work the registered name around that. I was lucky enough to be able to put my "kennel" name on the front of my dogs' names. As a little girl, I lived on the banks of the Deep Fork river. Well, river is a bit of a big term for it. It is the headwaters of the Deep Fork river that runs through the 'burbs of my city, but it's really just a polluted city creek. But, I decided as a girl my kennel of dogs would be Deepfork's. And, I don't really have a true "kennel" either, as I don't breed. So:

My dog Laika was named Laika of Deepfork.

My sheltie Aslan was named Deepfork's Aslan.

The one I like the best is my sheltie Jericho. He can only hear loud noises. At the Batttle of Jericho in the Bible, the walls of Jericho fell after the attacking army issued a loud noise. He is Deepfork's Battle of Jericho.
MACH Aslan RE, MX, MXJ, EAC, EJC, OCC, Wv-N, TN-N, TG-N, R-SN, J-SN, R2-CL, CGC, TDI, FFX-AG (five year old sheltie)
Jericho OA, NAJ, R1-MCL, CGC, FFX-AP (three year old sheltie)
Laika NAJ, CGC (nine year old retired American Eskimo)

    I've been defrosted.

When I was looking for a name for Sheena I wanted something where her call name worked with her registered name. I also wanted soemthing that described what she was and is to me. I purchased Sheena mainly to be my Service Dog(she was meant, and has, given me my life back) and if she excelled and passed her health tests she was going to be the fondation bitch for a Kennel where my soul focus was to breed dogs that had the potential to be service dogs for the disabled. A lot of stuff to put into one name. But I found it in the Greek language. Sheena in Greek means "Gods' Gift of Grace." Sheena is a gift from God to me. So her registered name was a play on that "Debbie's Gift of Gods Grace". It has been 3 long years since she first came to me and changed my life and in hopefully a few more months we will have our first successfully breeding to hopefully change some other disabled persons life for teh better.

Luca does not have a registered name because we got him from a rescue.

I just pick a songtitle or really neat songline from my favorite band (R.E.M.) and add my last name to the front of it.

Hard to believe given how I agonize over selecting thier actual names, but I am pretty loose with registered names. Whichever pops into my head first and sounds all right... I just want to compete in a few nearby breed events. Currently have no interest in chasing after big championships or breeding or a kennel, so it is just kind of a formality.
