Travis and Xena Pictures (Things just keep getting better!)

These two are getting along great. I had my dad help me with them in the front yard. They just kind of sniffed eachother and then proceeded to ignore eachother. After a little bit in the front yard we decided to move them into the backyard. At first I kept them both on leashes until I felt comfortable with them running around together. Eventually the leashes came off and they did great! I even got a video of them playing together. They had a blast. And definetly tired eachother out. lol.
I am being very cautious and watching their body language closely. Obviously I'm doing something right because they are hitting it off

Ah, I could see plainly in the photos that these dogs were new to each other. I failed to read your post before looking at them and went back to read it to see if they were actually new to each other.

They seem to be doing fine though. The vid of them was funny. I so miss having my Jess and Mist when they were young. Now Mist is gone and Jess is 13, it isn't the same. I'll be getting another pup soon so I'll get to have an active lunatic again and see some proper playing like with yours.

Yes, they are still getting used to eachother, which is why playtime has been kept to about an hour a day (its not nonstop play) and is very closely supervised. I am right there at all times to step in when I'm needed. So far I haven't had to step in too much. They enjoy eachothers company and I can tell they are happy to finally have playmates. (Travis lives with two other dogs, but they are smaller than him so they don't play with him)

Yeah I know our Jess would never accept another adult dog but she has accepted pups before so I know she'll be able to accept another. She'd have to be closely watched though because I reckon she'd do some bullying to make sure the new pup knew where it stood. Our Mist used to be the one to do it and Jess didn't have to because the pups always made a beeline for Mist and ignored our Jess who was happy to be left alone but Mist never hurt a pup and used to get quite motherly and protective of them after the initial bullying phase. Still, I would never want to leave them unsupervised until I knew they were used to each other.

You are very wise to recognise this & do things this way.Slow & easy
does it. Both dogs will be better off for it.Continued good progress.

Both of them are so beautiful! Now, I haven't fully kept up with the whole Xena story, however, why are her ears like that - do you know?
Has she been vet checked recently to make sure she doesn't give your pups anything? She does look fairly healthy, but you can never be too safe, right?

Im not entirely sure why her ears are that way, but I think its because the flies are getting to them.

Im not sure when her last vet visit was. I dont even know how to bring it up to her owner really.

Okay with a name like Xena I just had to post. She's living upto her namesake and is beautiful. Now you just need to get her a Gabrielle.
