Look What the Cat Dragged In

I just received this as an email....I re-typed the comments under the picture for all to read.

One week after being born, six baby skunks were abandoned by their mother. Luckily, we had just weaned five kittens off of our resident farm cat a day before and hoped that perhaps she might take them on as her own. She was reluctant at first, but she let them nurse – a positive sign. Two weeks have gone by and the six little "Stinkers" are thriving and their new mom couldn't be happier. She has become quite devoted to them and even carries them around to show them off to visitors

Dad: In 2 months, she'll be calling somebody to defumigate her home!!!

Really a touching story but I do wonder about the future . . . .

I think they spray only if threatened...and there is a 'neutering' type of surgery where the stink glands can be removed.

HEY - maybe they will learn to PURR!

On a side note: when I was little, my cousin had a pet skunk....the skunk had it's scent glands removed.
