Maybe the end of the road for Mist.

Well, she took a bad turn today. She seemed fine this morning but then, whilst out on a stroll, she suddenly went wobbley and weak looking and had to lay down for a few minutes. We carried on again and she was ok again but then as we walked back to our house, she did it again and, in the end, I had to just carry her the last few yards back to ours.

She gobbled her food down as usual when we got back and I put her in her mound of blankets in the shed. I phoned the vets and they were able to see her straight away so I took her. Her heart is fine and her temperature is fine. she is still the same weight as she was the last time she went, September last year. She was able to walk into the vets and seemed ok. She got some painkillers for the arthritis because the metacam doesn't seem to do much good, although I didn't think it was the arthritis causing the bad turn today but then, when we got her home, my suspicions were confirmed when we were just walking her through the house and she collapsed on the floor and had a mild seizure. No violent movement but her legs were just sticking straight out rigid and she lost control of her bladder and her eyes darted around for a few seconds but then stopped. As I was working this evening, I didn't have time to go back to the vets today. I'll go tomorrow.

Anyway, she's spent all of her time in the shed since then. She still gets up to use the newspaper but hasn't wanted to go for a stroll and she gobbled her supper again this evening and left the dish sparkling so her appetite hasn't been affected. She seems ok at the moment apart from not wanting to go for a walk.

Still, if it's something bad, I don't think I want to drag her through anything else at her age. She may have to be put to sleep tomorrow depending on what the vets thinks.

If the weather is cold, and that makes oxygen less, it could be heart- solved by medications.
Keep us posted about the visit to the vet tomorrow...

That's so sad to hear. It's good that she is eating so well. She'll need
that to stay as comfortable as she can outdoors. Sounds like she had a mild
seizure or something. I do hope the Vet has something to help Mist.

Oooo.....I am so sorry that Mist is going through this. I am sending my prayers that this can be fixed, and she will be alright.

Is there any way that she could be brought in, so you could monitor her overnight??? till you get her to the vets???
    Maggie,
