Is this naming trick cute or too cutesy?

A fair number of people choose to give all their kids (or all their pets) names starting with the same letter. My brother (who just had his first daughter this year) says he and his wife have decided to give all their kids names starting with the same letter. I've never liked this very much... it seems like it ends up being way too cutesy and a I have seen people end up giving names just because of the letter, instead of giving a name they liked better or with more personal meaning. What do you think of it?

Sorry, it was too funny, I had to vote for it.

I wouldn't, I'd get way too confused. And they would have a harder time telling their names apart.

What! No "I like pie" option?! Because I really don't care either way..and I don't think you should be beaten with a wet noodle

I knew this one family where their names ALL started with the same letter, parents, kids, pets...it was slightly creepy.

    I like pie!

It depends on how many kids they are going to have. My three cousin's names all start with C, but they are all very different names, so people don't make the connection.

There was, however, a family in my hometown - all the kids older than me, that did the same thing, but had ten or twelve kids, and ended up with one girl named Candace and another named Candy ...

I know one family that has a 3 C's, but one uses a soft C sound, so it doesn't come off as cutesy or too obvious. It can work, I just don't think it usually does. For instance, I knew two families who did this where I definitely didn't think it worked, one had 7 daughters with 'J' names (two went by the nickname Jen) and one family that had 10 kids with e names. It also seemed to increase the mixing up of kids names, much to their annoyance.

It's ok if it isn't overdone. then of course, there's the "accidental" pairings through marriage - like my brother & his wife, "Paul and Pauline". I used to work with a woman named- (I'm not kidding) - "Odell Odell" - her birth name plus her married last name! We ended up with two "S's" by accident - Sherman was already named when we got him, and it suits him so well, we couldn't change it.

It can be even worse !! My niece has 1 girl and 2 boys, and all their names start with an "MA". Poor kids, now they all have the same initials
Their names: Margot Naessens, Maxim Naessens, Mattis Naessens.

Margot is 6 now, and she already hates it....

I wouldn't pick a name just because I want it to start with a specific letter, but it doesn't bother me when other people do it. It does bother me when people have names that rhyme, like Brandy and Candy.
