What a lovely cat, those Siamese/tabby crosses sure do turn out some beauties. Just wanted to let you know, I named one of my cats Chriscraft because he purrs like a motorboat too! (And Harley is so overdone....) Best wishes to you and the fur person!

    Dear Sallie,

Welcome to Pet Talk. I love it here and hope you will, too. Tell us more about your cats!
I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?" I answer: "I am working at the roots." -George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

    My kitties

Well, let's see. Keju is the Singapura, he's 13 and a half, I call him my little instigator because he starts everything, although he can't always finish it--if he finds he's bitten off a little more than he can chew and Chriscraft is about to get him (playfully--they get along very well), he comes tearing up on my lap where he knows good and well Chriscraft won't follow; then he turns around a looks at him for all the world as if he's saying 'nyah nyah nyah nyah nyaaaahh, nyah, can't caatch meeeeee.' Stinker. He's also known as the Velcro kitty--he sticketh closer than gum on your shoe. Singapuras are still very rare, and I think they're beautiful. If you go on the net and look for Singingpurrs cattery, they have some lovely pictures.

Chriscraft is a previously feral, long-haired orange tabby. He's 3 this month some time. He has adapted amazingly well, though at first he would only come to be petted if I was sitting down. He seemed very afraid of feet; I think he'd been kicked. He is now pure house cat, loves being petted. He's named Chriscraft after the motorboat company because he purrs so loud (and Harley's too common a name nowadays).

I guess that'll do to start with. I have two other cats, Taz and Tsarina, who are currently staying with my parents on a 'long-term lend' -- my parents' pets passed away from old age, and since my parents are pretty old too they didn't want to get a kitten or a puppy that might outlast them-- but no animals just felt very weird, so I lent them two of mine. It works out well because sometimes my mom gets pretty sick and I need to take them back home for a while. Two beautiful white kitties; he's short-haired, stocky, with big golden eyes, she's Angora-type fluffy, very much a girl, with mint green eyes and a disdain of all other cats besides Taz.

Thanks for asking, I love talking about my cats (ask any of my friends!). What are yours like?

    Sallie
