    Max, the Wild Weimaraner!!

Here's what's going on with Max.

He is a lover (he sleeps on Mike's head or curls up on top of the chair and sleeps with his head on Mike!)

He loves to run (typical Weim) and paces the back fence looking for his buddy Sadie (the little Westie pup that lives behind us). He plays well with Serenity (even though they like to play pretty rough) and the other dogs, and Tigger seems to have accepted him now (just not when he gets too close to Tig's food).

Our only concern is that his poop (yes, another Kendall poop crisis! lol) is still really runny. We've been giving him Pepto tablets all weekend to see if that helps and it has a little. I have a call into Dr. B. to see if he wants to try something else. Max has been treated for all worms including tapes, so I don't think it's that.

Currently, he has his front feet in the computer chair and has his head resting on my shoulder watching me type!! He's soooo bright!!

Perhaps it is just an adjustment to new food? Or a change in his water? When I go anywhere, I always take our own water since a change in water always effects the dogs. Since he is probably still adjusting to his new environment it may just be a matter of time in all the new elements he has around.

Well.....there were going to be pictures tonight, but I took the film to Meijer to be processed and put on CD in an hour and when I went to pick them up, BOTH rolls of film had nothing on them from being overexposed. I was NOT happy!! So, as a result, there will be a delay in Max pictures. Sorry everyone!

Liz, you should see him now...he coat shines!!!

I'm not sure what the deal is with the stool problem. I took him over to my parents' house today and he pooped in their hall and there was 2 chunks (sorry to be so graphic), but the rest was just like water. I have a call in to the vet, so hopefully we can have something figured out by tomorrow.

He is also the klutziest Weim I've ever seen!! lol

Oh, Forgot to say before Molly but I believe Max is a lot
younger than they guessed him to me. Can't always be
to sure in the rescue business. Did your Vet ever venture
a guess at his age based on his teeth or whatever?

Well, Liz, we also thought that he is much younger. Doc B said that he would guess him to be between 1 and 3 years old, but probably closer to 1 because of his puppy behavior. You should have seen him tonight when I came home. Mike and I took him out to the backyard by himself and played catch with him...it was a riot. He was jumping around like a wild man and throwing the ball around and chasing back down...he is a true Weim! lol

I bet his runny poo is due to either stress or change in food. I wouldn't be too worried about it unless it continues too much longer. He is still adjusting and I'm sure we'll have solid poop in no time! Good luck in that department, hehe

He sounds like a bundle of joy! Just a question? Could the runny poo be from what's called giardia (not sure on the correct spelling)? Our vet said it is small microscopic worms, usually gotten from other pups, like when they walk in it, etc...Angus and Roxey both got it awhile back, from school I'm guessing. Don't know if your vet has checked or not, just thought I'd pass it on.

Max isn't quite that grey, but close!! Chewmonkey, the call them the grey ghosts. They have green eyes, which freaks a lot of people out. If you've ever seen the pictures of the dogs dressed up in human clothes doing human things, I think the artist's name is Wegman, those are Weims and the dogs they use in the VW commercials are Weims. Between those two examples, most people figure out what they are. They were orginally bred in Germany to be bird dogs for some baron.

I think I figured out what was wrong with the pictures...I took the camera and the film to a camera shop and she said that the flash wasn't bright enough (the other flash broke and we used this little thing that I got when I got the camera my junior year in high school some 23 years ago!), so I'm going to try again tonight and take them in when I go to Dr Byerley's to pick up meds for his loose stool. I will mention the giararda (or something like that to him). Thanks!!!
