    Buck's eventful day (*20 pics*)

Yesterday there was a dog show match that I've been wanting to go to for a while. I heard they were doing CGC (Canine Good Citizen) testing so I decided to take Buck along to get his. When we got there the lady told me to go ahead and do the TDI (Therapy Dogs International) at the same time since it was free ... lol. So we did the test and then when we get done she asked me how old he was and I said he was almost eight months and then she said he was too young to get his TDI (they have to be 1 year). Soooo ... I think he should've gotten it anyway and then maybe not be allowed to visit nursing homes and such until after a year because now if I want to do it then I have to wait until they have another testing date. Anyhoo, onto the pictures ...

    Buck coming when called

(He did pass the test and now his official name is Nova's Buck Naked CGC)

Look at all of the grass hanging from his slobbery lips lol

    Handsome boy

I went to just ask someone what time the conformation match started and they talked me into entering with Buck. She was like "it's only five dollars!" lol ... who can resist. It ended up being a lot more fun than I thought it would be! I might be able to get into this stuff ...

He looks pretty good, dontcha think?

Now for some other dogs that were there ...

Congratulations Buck and Sarah , well done. That is a shame that Buck was too young for his TDI, hopefully when he is old enough he will fly through the test again. Great photos aswell, the dogs are all lovely. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Congratulations, Buck!

*faints* Those dogs are all stunning! The Golden Retriever looks so sweet, this is exactly what I would like my first Golden to look like.
The Border Collie is just beautiful, and the Sheltie puppy is just as cute as can be!

    Way to go, Buck boy!
I would LOVE to have both my girls to earn their CGC. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Awsome pictures! That's so great that you passed. With Niņo, CGC is like that goal we don't know if we'll ever be able to reach.

Great pictures. I cannot believe Buck is so big/old. It just does not seem possible. Congrats on getting his CGC. I think Buck will do well in whatever he decides to do (TDI, conformation, agility, or obedience).
That Border Collie is extraordinarily cute. Is she still a pup?

OMG look at the Sheltie puppy! OMGahh!

Aww, you rock it, Buck! ^^ It is so awesome that he passed at 8 months, what a good boy... and a good handler, of course. I definitely feel that Obedience is 90% dependent on the handler, so you're obviously working with him a lot. Fozzie is 6 months and at this point, I don't think he could. Buck looks really nice stacked, did you guys win anything?

Btw, your camera takes amazzzing pictures. Also, Buck has one of the best heads I've EVER seen on a Lab, fo sho.

Congrats on the new CGC title Buck & Sarah!!! (everytime we sign up for our CGC they end up canceling it, it's happened three times so far )

I can't believe how fast he's groing. He's turning into quite a handsome young man.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

Thanks, that's a really great compliment! He is very fit ... not a bit of fat on him. He has tons of muscle. Lucky for him he won't gain weight no matter how much I feed him!

I think he was a year old, but I'm not sure.

We were entered in junior handler and I got second place which was pretty exciting for me. I went back to the car to rest for a while (it was sooooo hot) and missed the Labrador class I was wondering how well he'd do against the stocky guys He does have some pretty noticeable faults though ... his tail is too long and his feet are a little big. Both are "hallmarks" for the breed. I think he makes a good practice dog though, so maybe I will enter him in the local shows and get into handling classes to see if I like it.

Thanks for the compliment on his head The judge also really liked his head and his front. He did say he had nice bone as well.

2nd place is awesome! Especially for your first time. I'm sure you guys would've done well in the breed class, too!

He definitely has a nice head, it's like the perfect medium... not too long/houndy and not too thick. I really dislike the trend toward Rottie heads on show Labs =P.
