    spay question?

    can dogs be spayed while in heat? i've heard somewhere that they cant be, and you must wait until it is over until they can be spayed? true?

    They can be, but it's a much harder surgery--harder for the vet, harder on the dog, more risk of complications and therefore much more expensive. The price is often doubled at least!

    some vets prefer not to spay when a dog is in heat..it can be risky why is Coco in heat??

    she isnt in heat yet, but she should be real soon! im trying to come up with the money to get it done before she does come into heat!

    It's usually better to spay right after their first heat.
    Your vet should be able to tell you how long after.

    Actually it's better to spay BEFORE their first heat cycle. Has to do with hormone levels and greatly reducing their chances of mammary tumors later on in life.
