    More Dog Treat Recipes

Here are a few more recipes that I use to make yummy treats for the girls. Katie and Tori gobble them up!

I just made a batch of the Bark-B-Q ones for Katie's birthday yesterday. Here are some pics of the finished product.

    Happy Baking!!

I make that Peamutt butter one all the time. I substitute and add all sorts of stuff. Mashed drained carrots or peas or melted cheese instead of peanut butter, chicken or beef stock instead of water, bacon bits for flavour or barbeque sauce for a glaze. The possibilities are endless and they are so easy to make.

Is wheat germ easy to find in the grocery stores? I've never used it before.

Well, I had to search and search for it, Debby..lol. Never did find it the first time I went grocery shopping and didn't run into anyone to ask. I had to ask my sister. Super easy to find! It's right in the breakfast food aisle with all the cereals and is in a jar. At least what I found and bought is in a glass jar.

    I'll do that, thanks!

Oh, these sound good, Robin! I'll bet my two would like these- they love BBQ, peanut butter and chedder cheese. LOL! they do get a little crazed when they get peanut butter stuck to the "woof" of their mouths!

    Isn't wheat bad for dogs?

These look like they have a LOT of wheat.. =\

And if it's not bad, why are so many dog foods disliked because they have wheat?

Cool you posted these, now everyone's dogs will be barking for some

I made the Bark-B-Q ones this evening and they LOVED them
Thanks for the recipes Robin. Now I'm going to have to try the other two, 2 dozen biscuits don't go far with three dogs!

It's not like people are baking these treats and giving them as a meal. They are treats and much more healthier than the dog treats you buy in stores. Wheat is only considered "bad" because some dogs are allergic to it.

I will be baking up those treat recipes for sure! Bailey would probably love them, if not, he can give them to my sisters dog, Chester.

I am baking the Dig N' Cheese biscuits right now! I did a couple things different...

    First I doubled the batch...

Instead of using 3 cups flour, I substituted 1 cup of flour with 1/2 cup oatmeal and 1/2 cup wheat bran. I then shredded 2 cloves of garlic into the cheese to give them a flavour boost.

    They smell delicious..... for Bailey!

Bailey loved the cheese ones so much that I am now baking a batch of the Bark-B-Q biscuits! They smell delicious too!

Thank you so much for these recipes! I will have to make the peanut butter ones once I buy some peanut butter.
