    Calming down

Buddy runs around the yard... crazily. So quickly he's almost BLURRY. And whenever he has a chance, he opens the screen door and runs out. We have tried the spray bottle, the 'NO!!!!!!!' method, and the praise method, none of them have worked for the door, any suggestions for that? And for the going crazy part, how do I calm him down? More excersize? More being around other people and dogs? More socolization? More walks? Please help

More exercise and mental stimulation. When you're not home, give him an interactive toy like a Kong with peanut butter or thsoe toys where you roll it to get a treat. You can never have too much socialization.

Work on teaching him a sit/stay command. He can't run out the door if he's sitting.

A brush up on basic obedience and teaching him the "wait" and "ok" commands should help. The NILIF program is a great way to introduce the concept that he has to wait for your ok before doing something. There are several online websites devoted to NILIF including this one http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm

You can consider trying one of those collers that shock the dog when it barks...it's kind of mean but i think it works. My dog is exactly the same way, i get him to sit before i put him in the backyard and I tell him "okay" but when he goes outside, he goes crazy. He runs all around the yard barking at everything, cars, the neighbours, whatever the case happens to be. We just got the shock coller but i think it was out of batteries or something. But our neighbour said he had a jack russel that was like that and the coller worked for his dog. Hope this helps!
