    Raisin

    You have written:

"I know Raisin really has no special significance to the rest of the world, I just believe that she is one of the best, and cutest kittens in the whole wide world, and I think she should be honored."

EVERY creature has significance in the grand schemes of life. I quite agree that Raisin should be honored: honored just for existing, and for many another reason as well.

It seems to me that there are so many ways to look at this. Suffice here to say that life is a highly improbable mystery and we are all in this together. Hence Raisin is a vital part of the web of life of which we are all of us partakers. As John Donne so eloquently wrote so long ago now:

No man is an island entire of itself; every man
    is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
    own were....

And this, it seems evident to me, is true also of our beloved cat persons.

I know Raisin really has no special significance to the rest of the world,

Well, that's not only Raisin, it's basically everyone in the world. And our cats. And our dogs, too.

    Never let "significance" guide you.

Everything that lives has special significance, and congrats to Raisin for telling us that.

    Raisin

If Raisin is important to you (and she is!), then there's the significance! By the way, PLEASE don't give her chocolate, it can be deadly in animals. And you want her around a lot longer than just five months, so beware of what you give her. Also, cats can have a lactose intolerance, so be very skimpy with the ice cream also; otherwise she may get sick and you won't want to clean up after that! Raisin, enjoy your special day today.

I must concur w/the other PTers; Raisin is special to the rest of the world, believe me; all animals are. What I want to know is where do I get a basket like that w/a kitten inside? Now that's a gift basket! You're adorable, Raisin. Enjoy your day as COTD, pretty girl.
    Blessings,
    Mary

Happy COTD Raisin, you're a real cutie (but I'm partial to Tabbys!). Enjoy your treats, but no chocolate! Have a great day, sweetie!

Raisin reminds me of my beautiful Beyli who I lost on January 1st - I'm glad you gave her a home (and as mentioned, please, do not give her chocolate - just do a Google search "dangers food cats" and you will read the dangers of that and other foods for cats).

I have to add that I PRAY that your neighbors have now had their cats sterilized - it is highly irresponsible to be having THREE litters at a time where thousands of healthy cats (and dogs) are being killed because of overpopulation. Shelters are full and underfunded already. The public needs to smarten up and realize that every cat they allow to be born means another one in a rescue doesn't get a home and probably gets euthanized and one day it may be the one that they helped bring into the world too. Not all will be as lucky as Raisin.
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.

Raisin what a beauty you are!!!

Every creature is significant to our creator! Every living thing touches another life in some way or other. If that being is not here, those lives are not blessed by their touch.

Raisin the way you bring love and joy is very very special. How empty your home would be without your little purring purr-sonality to brighten it up.
I hope you are enjoying your special day with all your loved ones.

Congratulations, sweetie, on being our special Cat of the Day!!!

My Godmother used to call us her "Raisins!" = "Raison D'etre" French for "Reason to Live." Enjoy your special day.

Pish-tosh. She's precious to you, and that matters. A whole bunch of us have posted, so she has touched us all today. I've heard it said that "God don't make no junk" and she's proof!
I just believe that she is one of the best, and cutest kittens in the whole wide world.
Absolutely! Miss Raisin, you gave me a happy memory today. When I lived in the dorm in college, the second-last house on the block between my dorm and the school of nursing was occupied by a tuxie cat named -- RAISIN! I love your pictures -- looks like you were curled up in the basket before you tilted your head to see what's up... and that second one... looks like you're demonstrating your kitty yoga for us! You remind me a little of Lut's beloved Snoopy, too. I like your taste in food - ice cream and chocolate But you need to have the balanced kitten diet your people feed you so you grow up healthy and beautiful. Happy, happy Cat of the Day to you, Raisin and a fun, wonderful life! Mmuwah!
Praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine, and around the world.

I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!
Brrrr, I've been Frosted! Thank you, Asiel and Pomtzu!
