This is the first chance I've had to catch up on this thread and I am sobbing uncontrollably!!!

Thank you God for pulling little Bassett through such a difficult time. I guess lighting candles at your house DOES work afterall.

Naomi, you must be so relieved that it's finally over. Please take care of yourself, get some rest and know that you have MANY people here who love you.

I'll PM you with my phone number if you feel like talking.

Give lil Bassett a big smooch from me and my kids and one for yourself for being such a strong, loving mama.

I KNEW there was a reason tortie's had tudes. That's a GOOD thing!!

Bassett is home So far, she hasn't come out from under the bed. I may call the clinic this afternoon if there is still no change.. I want to bring her out and force feed her water if I have to, but I don't want to hurt her. Last night her breathing was bad but it was because it's really hot and humid here. Now it's calmed down and she looks better. I hope she comes out from under the bed though It makes me sad that she won't come out, but I think she might be in pain. They didn't have me bring home any pain meds, so I'm wondering if she feels it at all. I will keep monitoring her, and see how it goes. I don't want to stress her out, so I'll just play the waiting game for a bit.

Please keep praying though.. and thank you again!

PS - the total in donations when I left the clinic yesterday was $2156.17.. WOW!!!!! I paid another $300 on it, and there is still a balance of either 17 or 1800.. I can't quite remember. Thankfully, Dr. Shiller's estimate was much higher than she thought it would be, so I'm not nearly as stressed out now. However, I still would not have been able to do it without you guys.. you are the best!

Welcome home, sweet Bassett. Naomi, I think hiding under the bed is normal..she has been through alot, and may need the security that gives her. Is her food/water and litter close by? If not, I might move some in there......good luck.

    Welcome Home Sweet Bassett
I hope you get a good rest and then come out and join your family. You have been a very brave girl. Gentle pets and cuddles for you. I am very proud of what we Pet Talkers have done to help you.

Naomi, what Cataholic is saying makes good sense. Bassett may need to be by herself for a while any to lay low so that she can heal. I am surprised that the clinic didn't send you home with any pain medication. Take care and try to get some rest yourself.

Naomi, it must be so nice to have Bassett back home with you.

And I am sure you are watching her every move.

But even under normal circumstances, whenever kitties are not feeling well, they like to be by themselves.

After what Bassett has been through, I bet she just wants to be left alone for a few days. I wouldn't worry too much, just watch her.

And......maybe you might enjoy the same quiet time - you have been through a lot......and may need to rest some too.

I too, am very proud that all of us could help you and Bassett.

I hope that there will be even more donations to help out.

Wow! Great news! Don't worry about little Bassett, she's probably a little frightened from her big experience with the White Coats. She'll be out for some cuddles and head bumpies in no time!

    Naomi,

Are you home home, or home at your friend's house? Maybe she'll feel better once she gets to her own home?
