“Kyla? Oh my god! Where have you been?” she screamed. It was my best friend in the world, Emilia. I smiled and Spencer sat down across from me.
“Hey Em.” I said. I bit my bottom lip knowing that she was going to ask where I had been and demand to know every detail.
“Where have you been? I’ve called about a thousand times in the past two days trying to get a hold of you, you sneak.” She laughed. I sighed. If she only knew what I had been through in the past two days, she wouldn’t be laughing.
“I don’t really want to talk about it over the phone.” I said, biting harder on my already pounding lip.
“Can I come over? Kyla, please! I need to know what happened.” She said. She sounded more concerned now, realizing it was no joke.
“I’m at Spencer’s, Em. I don’t know if his mom wants any more people here.” I said, looking longingly at Spencer. He shook his head telling me it was no big deal.
“Fine. Come over in a little bit, okay?” I said. She agreed and we hung up.
“Are you sure it’s okay that she comes over? You know how she is, she’ll end up staying for hours if you let her.” I said.
“Fine by me. Anyway, my mom has to go to work. I have to go to work in a few hours anyway. You two can hang here, as long as it’s okay that Erica and Jeremy stay.” He said. I told him it was the least I could do; watch Erica and Jeremy.
