I don't think that it's very common. I sometimes notice one of my cats hiccuping but not very often. I think it's caused when they eat too fast.

It's nothing to worry about unless it happens constantly.

Fister has had hiccups a few times and as KAK says, it's probably caused from eating too fast. Smaller portions 3 times a day may help. But I don't think it bothers them too much.

My cats get the hiccups once in a while too. It's normal and nothing to worry about. They're just like the hiccups you and I get. Only it doesn't seem to bother THEM too much.

Speckles will sometimes get the hiccups if she eats too fast but they don't last that long, usually a couple of minutes.

My kitten has the hiccups to, and I ask the vet if that was common for them to do that. And she yes it was for kittens, because they eat so fast sometimes and their food doesn't digest that quick. But notthing to worry about that happens alot in kittens. And my kitten is 7moths old.

Well, Mitzi isn't a kitten, she's about 2 years old and she gets the hiccups when she's stressed. I'm glad to read that it really doesn't hurt them, it's just like our hiccups. She just looks bewildered when it happens and gives me that look that says "Mom! Make it stop!" The first time I tried to scare her with a little "Boo!" but she just looked at me like I was nuts, gave me one of her high fives and then hicced again. What a nut!

My RB-cat Katz did it sometimes, but not too often. It didn't seem to bother her.
