    Who's Fluffy???

Just an observation and something that's been bugging me.

Please, when you start a thread with just 3 lines and say "now fluffy is OK", I want to know who fluffy is and what happened. I really appreciate people who put a link in the first line so I can go back and read all about fluffy.

Also, I do read Pet General and Pet Health and I can't read minds. When you post that fluffy is not doing well, please can you tell me if fluffy is a rabbit, or a gerbil or a bird or what? Maybe I don't respond but I do read and say prayers when requested.

There are too many folks on board here for me to remember the names of everyone's pet and what type of pet they have.

Thanks. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

    You're not alone!

And to continue this thought ...
You don't *need* to start a New Thread every 6 hours!

TRY to create a "catchy" Title - that covers Who, What, When, Where, & Why -
to really TELL folks what the thread is about ... I'm sorry, but I don't often read
threads that have super-criptic or one/two word "titles"!

And once you've picked a "catchy title" and have begun to attract an audience -
STICK WITH the Thread ... nothing I hate more than to begin replying to a nice thread -
only to find a day later it's been replaced by a "newer" thread - same subject -
but a new title. It's very hard to get the whole story and follow along when
there are multiple, overlapping threads where ONE would do just fine!

Wheew ... now I feel better!

Slick and Phred, I couldn't agree more!! It really is irritating to have to sift through all these threads, when one could capture the whole story.

By saying "Fluffy" I'm sure Slick meant any fluffy pet.

Arghhhhhh this has been bugging me the last few days, we dont need seperate threads when "Fluffy" steals a bit of hooman food or digs a new hole. It is getting harder to keep track of other threads because they are getting bumped back to page 3 or so.

Amen, this has bugged mr for a long time. It clutters the board and makes everything else harder to read as well.

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!

Generrally don't either. I try to make my titles fascinate the viewer so I get more replies.

I agree to that! It would be nice if people even do quick recaps if they feel they have to start a new thread, or something...PT is growing, and it's hard to keep track of everyone's furbabes!!

    Slick,
    Thank you.

I cannot get onto PT often at work anymore, because I have a Nazi female boss..... so sometimes I don't know that "fluffy" took a bad turn, or if indeed I could offer constructive advice ....

Must admit the "preview" on the thread when you hover over the title helps me figure out whether I missed out on a previous thread somewhere ...

The only thing I do do, is put the word SPOT somewhere in my thread titles ..... so I can find it again .....

Oh my, excellent thread..............I am sure that I do miss many posts about important things..........usually about pets.

I do see that some members have fun trying to see how many threads they can open - and I usually just avoid them.

I have found that once you open them - there isn't much substance and it was a waste of my time.

I guess this is why I stick to the people that I know well, and feel sure that I want to know what they are posting about. Not very fair to new members, but some use this as a chat room - not a forum.

Fluffy - well, wherever you are, Fluff - I hope you are doing well!
