Personally, I would not be able to resist the chance to hug him.

FIND A PURPOSE IN LIFE.....BE A BAD EXAMPLE
Caroline and I went to visit Dali (13) and his mother yesterday. Dali wasn't so keen being waken up from his afternoon nap, but an hour later he came. He accepted a quick hello, but circled around us and I could touch him a few times. He lives in a wonderful villa with a huge garden, and there's a big wodden sundeck.
Dali has been travelling a lot with his parents, all over the world, they lived for two years in Bolivia. I think that is where he lost his one eye.
Caroline and I will go there a few times together and some times alone. A really nice place to cat sit. It will be from April 10th to April 20th.

That sounds wonderful. What a great cat he is!

Well, Hello Dali!
If you have a problem with getting any feline to know you, I have a solution.
Open a can of sardines and use the oil behind your ears, the nape of your neck and a little splash on the decolletage? (sp?)
It works for me!

I have now been catsitting Dali since April 12th and it's going quite well, except today, he went to the far back of the garden which borders up to another family's garden - and he went through the fence. For a while I thought he'd come back, but in the end, I had to go all around to another street and in to that garden to get him and fix the fence (luckily, the family wasn't home). A black cat is living there and I'm so glad the two of them are friendly. For being such a bad catsitter, I got a little scratch on my nose.
Before I went home, I managed to clip 4 of his nails on one paw.
Will try to get some pictures in the next few days.

A catsitter who can even do nail clipping- that sounds excellent!
I would be afraid to catsit and indoor/outdoor kitty.
His fur looks SO SOFT! GO!

Oh goodness, I would have been all nervous about him going into someone else's yard! LOL I'm glad they weren't home and you were able to retrieve him ok. Enjoy catsitting this darling and give him some cuddles for me!
What a sweetheart! And what a wonderful catsitting assignment!

Just remembered I had some pictures of Dali from when I was catsitting in April - thought I'd share some.
In the kitchen
View to garden
Out exploring
Having a rest on the sundeck
Being a good boy, going back inside

Aww...what a sweetie! He didn't really ESCAPE, he just wanted to go say "hi" to the other kitty - he was being considerate!!
