    Christmas Card Swap

It's that time of year again folks. I've participated for two years now and really enjoy it. All those interested, sign up here. You don't put your personal info here, though. PM me with your name and mailing address. And email addressIf you want your pet's names included on the card, I'll need that, too. November 6th is the deadline for signing up. Also remember that EVERYONE on the list is to be sent a card. Think about postage price and start saving now. I know I was shocked about that the first time I participated. You can even do postcards if you like. It's a lot of fun to get cards from all over the world. Also, if you're not in the U.S. and are worried about postage, usually there is one person that they can mail the cards to and then do the postage for the U.S. ones in the U.S. I hope that makes sense. Ho ho ho! I love Christmas! Let the fun begin.

Ouch, how much has postage been in the past? Just an average, Val, if you don't mind...I want to do this, though! It shouldn't be an issue, but, now you've got me nervous! What information do you need me to pm you?

Kari, last year I think it was for about 50 people. That's why I mentioned the postcards. Or, you can do what I did the first year and bought the decorated computer paper and just had a message printed out. If you can't do it for all and just want to do a few personally, we'd all understand. Or, just save a bit from a few paychecks and it won't be hard at all. I just need your name and mailing address. I'll edit that in the first post.

Before this goes too much further, you will have needed to have been here a while. When Karen answers my pm about making this thread sticky, I'll ask her about that, too. I'm trying to find last years' but am having trouble. Bear with me as I'm new at this and will do my very best to make everyone happy.

That's it. I've got to edit it again because I need everyone's email addresses! That's how I send the list to everyone. Duh! I'll get it right, I swear.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you participate, you must send cards to everyone on the list, not just those you pick and choose. Everyone sends to everyone, it's the only fair way to do it.

Also, when considering postage, some particpants are from out of the country - Europe, Canada, Australia, etc. - so postage will be more to them than to the US participants. 50 x .37 = $18.50, then you have to add a bit for the out of country people, and you're looking at possibly around $25.00 in postage - on top of the cost of cards for 50 people, etc....

It can get a bit expensive, but it is so worth it go get a ton of cards from all over the world.

    I'm in again!

Just a heads up to people who haven't participated: In the past, I've ended up spending about $75+ if you include postage, cards, envelopes, stickers, pictures, etc.

The first year I participated the bottom line was just over $150. That's why I've opted out of this since then and will not be participating this year.

BUT, you don't have to do all that. You can even go to Wal Mart and get the photo cards. I think they are quite reasonable. Please don't back out just for that. We would love to get anything from you.

I'm interested but I don't know how many people will be involved or how much do you think postage would be? It's 38 cents in the US correct?? For 50 cards that's 20 bucks. I know doesn't seem like a lot but on a tight budget..

I'll consider, though! I would LOVE to receive some, that's for sure, but well.. I'll see.
