    Pyrangel Rescue story (graphic)

I will take my cue from Jessica and post this story, although I thought it might be too horrible to post. If by doing this, one life can be saved, then I will. Stop the abuse. Report it!

VERY GRAPHIC. EXTREME CASE OF ANIMAL ABUSE. NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED.

Yesterday I received an e-mail from the Great Pyr rescue that Bandit was adopted from. Here is a story reporting the rescue and transport of some horribly abused Pyrs. The rescue is Pyrangels.

    VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK.

These dogs should weigh upwards of 110-140lbs.

Oh Sue, such horrible pictures! I am so angry to see the pups in those conditions.

Hope they recover 100%. I will be thinking about them and praying that they will survive this horrible incident. Sprayed them with Weed Killer? What was he thinking? I would like to spray him with Weed Killer!

How could anyone with a conscience let a living being get this way? What goes around, comes around. Their owners will get theirs soon or later. I will try and send some supplies to the Rescue Organization.

Oh come on, people really really piss me off. What the h_ll did he think he was doing spraying those dogs with weed killer! oh no he wasn't thinking. Those poor dogs. They look dredful. I hope they recover 100% and find good homes.

Those people should be locked in a cage with no food, no water and weedkiller sprayed on them. Let them wallow in their own waste!!!

Their condensed step by step rescue and transport and update is posted at the Pyrangel site.

Remember, this is graphic and horrible:
    http://www.greatpyreneesrescue.net/helpthesepyrs.htm

    Quoted from the site:
    Please don't look away.
Don't turn away and think that this
    does not concern you.

We know the images here are disturbing and difficult to view, but we beseech you
to open your eyes, open your hearts,
    and make a difference.

Read the story of their Rescue,
their 1000 mile journey to safety,
    and their courageous personalities.

Is any other proof necessary for strict and uniform laws
    concerning Animal Welfare?

    Sue,

You did a good thing by posting this information. How can
people know how widespread these cases are, if not for
those who hear of cases like this to let others know. I did
however find a site that maybe holds promise of stricter
punishment for grevious abuse cases such as this one.

    Please check this Arkansas site;

    http://www.humanearkansas.org

I wish them every success in getting this passed into law.

    Sue,

My tears are filled with tears as I read the story. These people (the old owner) are heartless creature!!!!!!! They don't have conscience at all!

I read the whole story and i really sobbed while reading.... This is I think the most horrible story that I ever heard involving an animal abuse. I truly admire the rescue groups who are responsible for saving these Great Pyr babies.... God bless all of them...

I want in my own simple way be a part of this rescue. I'll send a donation to the Pyrangel Rescue Network. These babies deserve to be truly loved ...

Thank you Sue for giving us a chance to be a part of this rescue.

These babies will always be in my prayers....

    Sudilar,

I know it must have been so hard posting this, as it breaks heart just to hear about such horrible abuse.
    You did the right thing.
Because who will help these poor dogs, if nobody see or hear them, because it is to painful to look at their abused bodies, and to listen to there cry from pain?
You need to know about them, to be able to help, and closing your heart to protect yourself from sorrow, isnīt going to help them.
Thank you so much for posting this.
I cried so much looking at them, and I will never forget them, but I donīt regrat that I didnīt ignored them.
I think that would mean very much to them, if they knew...

I read it, finally, and I am appalled. . The Pay Pal isn't cooperating, but I will work with it until I can make my contribution. Sue, thank you for making us aware. My heart goes out to these beautiful pups.....

    Hi Sue,

Any news on these babies? I sent an e-mail before to the Pyrangel Rescue but I didn't get a response... I'm just wondering how are they doing right now.. The 2nd week in the link is still under construction.... When I read the story of how they rescued and transformed Hope and Freedom , can't help but cry.. I truly admire these people or anyone who are involve in any rescue activities... I feel helpless too sometimes not being able to do it myself aside from doing financial contribution.. I only live in a 1 bedroom apt. so I can't even offer to be a foster home... That has been one of my dreams.. Oh well, i feel like crying again

I've been thinking of these babies since I read this post.. I've been praying for them a lot too... If you hear any update, please let me know...

[email protected] is the Chicagoland Great Pyr Rescue that has the link to the Pyrangels Rescue. Maybe if you e-mail them with your question or comments, they might be able to get through to the Pyrangels. I'll also see what I can find out.

    Sue,

What a perfect timing! I just got an e-mail from Joan Fremo. I just read it right now and she's asking some prayers for Persephone, one of the 3 great pyrs rescued from Arkansas...

Please include them in your prayers...

This is the content of Joan's e-mail...

    Hello friends!
Persephone, one of the 3 dogs rescued from
Arkansas a few weeks ago, needs your prayers.
Please take a moment to say a prayer, to send
energy and good thoughts to her.

Persephone has been doing so well. She has
gained the most weight of the three dogs, she is
no longer naked--her skin has softened from the
black leather, and she is covered in short fur.
She is happy, and friendly, bouncing and
    playful--until yesterday...

Yesterday when I woke up she seemed reserved,
relutant to go out side, had no appetite. Her
temp was elavated, she acts like her hind section
is bothering her, back legs wobbly, and she sits
after a few steps. Her normal animated attitude
    has evaporated.

We called the vet, and were in the office waiting
for them. She has had blood tests, and x-rays,
long acting antibiotics--but we don't yet know
    what is happening.

I elected to bring her home, as there is no staff
during the night at the vet's office. At least
here I could hold her, coax her to drink, keep my
hands on her. It is 6am now, and I have had no
sleep. I take her back this morning, 7:30 am, for
a Barrium enema--see if there is anything the
    x-ray missed.

I am very frightened for Persephone. She has come
such a long way, she has had such a struggle, she
was doing so well... PLEASE, hold her in your
    hearts and prayers.

I have been so careful. I have a seriously ill
boy in quarantine here. I strip off my clothes,
stuff them in plastic, wash with a bleach
solution, redress, and spray my self down with
disinfectant before going from him to any of the
others. (Done more laundry this week then in the
last 6 months) I knew my AR babes, no matter how
well they were doing, would have compromized
    immune systems. This seems unrelated.

She is being treated by Spring Oaks Animal
Hospital, 2489 South Woodland Boulevard, Deland,
    FL 32720 PH386) 736-6747

    Please say a prayer...
    Joan
