Unfortunately, Pepper has to pull out of the fence climbing event due to a training accident. It was also determined that cat nip is a performance-enhancing substance. Therefore, Pepper was forced to withdraw.

Note: This photo is several months old. Pepper is really fine and hasn't hurt herself again.

Fister says thanks a million to all the Pet Talkers who voted him a Gold Medal. He's VERY proud of it, but of course, being a cat, wouldn't show it (apart from looking rather smug).

His comment was typical of him: That's great! I should have entered more disciplines.
… Oh well, doesn't matter now, all that Pathetic Miowing tired me right out anyway. Pity it's too late for the Yawning competition!

Come to think of it, I'd probably have done quite well in the lounging competition too!

We don't know how this information leaked out but now that it has become public knowledge "Squatty" Magoo will make his appearance.

    He practices his jab!

Magoo says he feels in top physical condition and ready to take on the champs! We did find out from a source that Magoo had to promise his mom that he wouldn't bite off anyone's ear before she let him come to the olympics!!

Paws up for this superb thread!! We’ve been off on holidays and stuff (like at a poodle kennel for a week! ) and haven’t been here for a while. Will we join the Olympics? You bet!

    Day 6 updates!

    Cat Flying medals awarded.
    -------------------------------------
The medals in the three way tie were awarded last night

The ceremony to the awards turned into a multinational free for all when the all the winners decided to jump onto the platform at once. There was only one incident that the hosts were concerned about. A floor fan was knocked over, causing one official to note,
"Everything was going well until the 'kit hit the fan'......"

Cat boxing prelims are still open!
    ----------------------------------------

The preliminaries of Cat Boxing are still open to the cat-letes.

    Cat-noeing and rowing.
    -----------------------------

Heats are still being run at the rowing venue. While actual rowing may not be seen by some of the fans, it is fun watching the sleeping cats lazily floating on the course.

    Cat alympic Notes.
    ------------------------
Free style and Greco-Roman wrestling competition will begin next Monday.

The Beach Volleyball Venue will open on Saturday, the court sand was cleaned, scooped and baking soda was added to the suface.

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A note to the competitors and their trainers.

In order to properly cover the Games the media would like to remind everyone that pay careful attention to the events as they are posted!

A reminder post will insure that the participants are given the exposure they deserve!

    Thanks!!

First in from Team Sweden is Tess in the “Odd places to rest”-competition. She’s been working hard on this the whole year and there hasn’t been a day when she hasn’t been practicing.
Ready, steady and here she goes!!!

Cammie, Halo and Pepper are late entries in the Balance Beam competition.

As she begins her difficult dismount:

Halo was disqualified because her Beam didn't meet the regulations.

Pepper's Beam also was disqualified. Though points were given for originality.

Halo has also decided not to compete in the swimming contests. Desired results were not achieved and her coach suffered minor injuries during practice.

Sorry Team USA. Looks like Halo and Pepper can't be counted on this year.

Due to an injury involving an attack from another species (Rat) Remus will not be participating in any more events, although he would like to be a spectator!

    News Flash!!
    -------------------------------

The IFGC is looking into the use of 'pot' by Sweden's athlete entered in the sleeping competition. Altho the judges remain tight lipped about the investigation an unnamed source told the media that it's just another inquiry, like the Nike/boxing inquiry that took place in the opening days of the Games.

    Upcoming Events
    --------------------------

    Synchonized sleeping, eating
    Yawning, Individual and Team events
    Sumo, Individual and team
Cat aerobics, gymnastics and stretching, Individual and team
Laser light/toy chasing, Individual and team.

All cat swimming events have been taken off the schedule.

  15. Oh my gosh Fister! You must be exhausted. It is hard to imagine the effort that you must have put into that gold medal!!!

I think you deserved a nice rest....and perhaps a little shrimp to help you get back your energy????
