Leda (NYC rescue) Photo Shoot 9-10-06

Here is her lovely face while still inside her cage. Her coat is so shiny that her white can blind you from the flash.

Here is an example of how she wals around the room.

Here she stops to look around.

Here I attempted to fix "flash eyes" but they still don't look real good.

And one last picture for today.

She still is not accepting of the other cats. But time will tell.

She is lovely and hopefully, she will settle in and take advantage of all the other fur friends she has there to play with and enjoy.

Jen, I think she is in the best place to come out of her shell. I hope she realizes she is being fostered by the best!

I used 3 of these pictures to post Leda on petfinder. This is what I wrote:

Leda was sitting in a NYC pound waiting to be destroyed. Her owners just left her to die. She was petrified!! But a trio of kindhearted people ensured her safety by sending her to us.

Leda is shy, but underneath her uncertainty is a heart of gold. Even through all her fear she has never attacked, bitten or scratched anyone. And she craves attention and petting as long as you are quiet and gentle.

Leda will need a family willing to work with her. She won't be a good pet for your children. She won't do well with one litter box hidden away in the basement. She will only thrive in a quiet, cat-savvy household where she can blossom at her own speed.

Leda is front declawed, spayed, UTD on vaccinations and negative for FeLV/FIV. Please contact her foster mom at [email protected] for more information on her.

Jen, She's done very well with you and I'm sure that if any one can get her to come out of her shell you can. I hope she'll be able to find the right loving forever home soon.
Her slinking around reminds me of how my Sunny will walk when he's very scared, nervous, or just being extremely cautious.

The photos show her shiny coat beautifully, and it looks very soft. She keeps herself really clean judging by her very white paws and bib.

I am concerned about finding her a home, not that that is going to be easy, when we don't know much about her peeing behavior yet. Will you be able to take her to the vet this week? My concern is that if she is lucky enough to be adopted, and she then has innapropriate peeing behavior, will she end up where she was only a short time ago? However, you have a lot more experience in adoption than I do.
