Julie, I'm so glad Hope enjoyed her first real Christmas. I'm sorry about Max, that had to be difficult. I can't wait to see the pictures. Phred gave good instructions. I found posting them on an album on webshots was really pretty easy after you get the hang of it. Good luck. Remember, don't be a stranger.

Sorry I haven't gotten the pictures posted but unfortunately the rescue business is always busy. We now have a chow pup that was left at our shelter door that had been burned by some type of chemical or scalded with hot water. He has burns on his neck chest and tongue. He is burned to the skin and it is doubtful the fur will grow back. I have been bathing him with special shampoo, keeping his burns clean and he is on antibiotics and being watched closely for infection. Despite the abuse he is a very sweet guy and just like Hope, he has not once growled or tried to bite me. Just when I think I have seen it all something like this comes along. We also have an older female lab mix that had been hit by a car or abused and has part of her upper lip missing as the injury was never treated. She can only eat canned food. She also has scars on her chest. She had a large mass on her chest which has turned out to be an advanced cancer. So guess where this one is going??? She will be coming home with me soon to live out the rest of her life and be loved and have a home. I keep hoping with each new year that the abuse will stop or at least lessen. I can only say that the people who do this to animals will one day have to answer to someone greater than us all. But in the meantime, I will continue to do all that I can for them.

Oh Julie, you are so wonderful. I sometimes wonder why God allows humans to live on earth. How do people become so evil. Gee, do you think they would enjoy being scalded with chemicals? I doubt it, but they should have to endure it too so they understand what they do to our precious furbabies. As you can tell, I'm not having the greatest time right now, but I don't think I would change my opinion of scum like these people. I'm sure your lab will at least be able to enjoy a short time on earth before she is no longer in pain and reaches the Rainbow Bridge. Please keep us informed and up to date. You're my hero!!!

Julie, you're doing it again. I know there must be numerous others that we don't even know about that you have helped. Bless you, sweet lady, for being there for all of them.

Hope goes for her final check up with the eye Dr. tomorrow and if all goes well, she can play with the other dogs and truly be a "dog". She is actually getting a little heavy! Imagine that! Again, I am thinking positive thoughts for all to go well.
The chow that was burned, Spencer, is slowly improving. We had him at our pet adoption on Saturday and he loves women but is terrified of men. So we figure it was a man that abused him. You cannot touch his head at all. He did really well around children. He is going to need a special home but we will find that home for him. Sugar, my new dog with cancer gets her sutures removed tomorrow and will get her "lampshade" off also. I know she will glad for that!!! She has not been eating well so I have been trying different types of food. I think it is hard for her to eat with her lip being the way it is but I will figure it out. So my family of dogs that nobody wants continues to grow. They are all so special and I am the lucky one to have them!!! I will let all of you know how things go for Hope tomorrow.

I am so thrilled to hear that Hope is almost THERE!! I have her pic. stored on my computer, and look at her beautiful face often. A fat Hope???? Now that's a picture I could really learn to love. Thanks too for the update on Sugar and Spencer. Bless their beautiful hearts. Hope Sugars' appetite improves. And if anyone can find Spencer the perfect forever home it's you, Julie! Love, Sandra.
