Oh no. I am so sorry. Maybe the trip will distract her a bit for now. But I'm sure once she gets home it will hit her hard again. He must have been needed at the bridge for something very important to be taken at such a young age.
    RIP Gus

    Dear Gus ~

Safe Trip up to the Bridge, Lil Guy!

We hardly knew you, but sure are gonna *miss* ya! As will your Mom ...

Please keep your *eye* on Mom and her Buddies on their Big Trip -
maybe visit her in NYC for a moment to let her know you're OK at the Bridge.

Look up Bowser - you'll like him! He's the Fluffie One, with the *waving* Tail.

    Take care, Gus.

    BIG {{{Hugs}}} for Adeline.

when I broke my foot I took Keegan to Gus' house to have a playdate.
he was so full of life -
and was known as the mad licker.

    happiest in his mom's lap

run and play Gus - you'll have fun at the bridge -
    Take care of him Shaianne.
Gus make sure you find Avery - your big dobie brother that crossed to the Bridge before you were born, your mom will feel better knowing that Avery will take care of you.

I am so sorry. I never expected to log on and see this. I thought for sure the little guy was doing great. Please tell your friend that many of us here share in her sadness. I hope she can have some fun this weekend. Coming home to a dogless house will be very hard. I will be thinking of her.
    RIP GusGus.

My condolences too...poor Gus, and his poor Mom! Just when everything seemed ok.

Unless he started bleeding internally from the surgery - poor boy, don't know what could have happened.

RIP Gus - and lick all the other pet angels madly at the Bridge!

Heartbreaking, after hearing that good report from the vet. RIP dear Gus, you were a special one, gone much too soon.

What an emotional roller coaster for your friend; Gus's passing and the big celebration! Oh dear, those are enough to drive you crazy as well! Such sad timing. Yes, I think she was right to go (no, you didn't ask). It is the emotional journey which will make the trip so different than she had planned on for that time. Prayers and hugs.

thanks for finding and posting photos, he was a sweetie.

I remember Gus. Please tell your friend that she has my deepest sympathy. I just cannot imagine losing such a young baby as Gus. She had so little time with him. Gus, if you see four poodles named Peaches, Pumpkin, Ashley and Whitney they will surely show you around. While they are doing that, will you please tell them that I love them and still miss them all.

Prayers for GusGus & his family. Please let his family know we really understand their pain.
Poor guy, but it sounds like they did everything they could. I guess God needed one more curly little angel at the RB. Play happily, GusGus, and check in with your family, they need to know you are still near.

Oh, Staci, I really wasn't expecting this news. I am so sorry that your friend lost Gus. He certainly looked like he was a happy lively little guy. I hope she is able to have a good time on her trip. Nothing like bad timing. It is hard to keep the puppies out of things. Tucker is always chewing on something he shouldn't. With the kids here there is a lot to get into but he also like to get into our bathroom wastebasket. Rip, Gus, I'm sure Snoopy will love playing with you and running with you. You look like his type of friend.
