We just came home from the vet's from a checkup. The vet is VERY pleased about Bassett. When I first took Bassett in, the vet couldn't hear any "airway noise" because her chest was so filled with fluid. Today, she was able to hear "airway noise" quite far down her chest, and she was really impressed. It almost seemed like she was pleasantly suprised! Also, Bassett's heart rate has slowed quite a bit (it was crazy when she first went in) and her breathing isn't laboured. I have to take her back in two weeks for another xray and blood pressure, and, if need be at that time, a drain. But - no drain today, and that's good news!!

It was so funny though - as soon as the vet walked in, Bassett actually cringed and put her ears back, like "oh... you.. " The vet kinda shrugged like yeah, that happens! But I can tell.. she likes Bassett a lot and Bassett is getting more used to going in for checkups. She's such a good girl!!

So, here is a happy story amongst all the bleak. Thanks for all your continiued prayers and support
