The deadline for filing taxes is always April 15th. http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc301.html

If you are referring to federal income tax, then the filing date is April 15.

If you are referring to state income tax, there is no filing date, since as a resident of Texas, you are not subject to state income tax. However, if your parents had income outside of Texas, they would be subject to the tax laws of that state.

    Hope this helps!

This makes so much sense now! I was talking to my mom about taxes and said that I owed a little in state taxes. She was so confused and said that there was no state tax, I figured she just didn't know because my dad usually handles the taxes. I live in Az and she lives in Tx, I didn't realize that it was different!

Actually it's April 17th this year, the 15th is a Saturday. In Mass. it's April 18th because the 17th is a holiday.

*umm, I thought EVERYONE new April 15th was the dreaded Tax Day!*
