Yeah unfortunately with some dogs, a harness just means they can put all their weight into pulling their owners aroundOriginally Posted by Suki Wingy

I have heard excellent things about the harnesses made by this guy: http://www.larzequipment.com/ . I've been conisdering one of his leash/collars for a while, but am not sure of Riley's walking/running future any more. One of my friends who is a very big Husky fan pointed me to this site.
**These are designed specifically to prevent pulling. It's a harness, but it does not allow for more "body" pulling.**
That's what obedience training is for=)Originally Posted by Jessika

Most dogs (without proper training) will pull much more while wearing a harness. I'd suggest using a Halti if your dog is a puller. Take your dog to the pet store and ask someone to show you how to use a Halti. Eventually you can ween him off the Halti and back onto a regular collar or harness without the pulling.

I'm having a horrible time getting Ebony to heel. I did what The Dog Whisperer says to do with Jada and Diamond, worked like a charm. Ebony is stubborn, typical for a pit bull. I feel for you it's a battle of the wills at times. Have you ever watched The Dog Whisperer? He has some really good points when it comes to making your dog listen to you. I think I read a post of yours awhile back that said you dont get that show. I would be glad to tape some of his shows and mail you a tape. PM me if your intrested.Originally Posted by Suki Wingy

First walk with Canny Collar last night seemed to go pretty well.
He's not overkeen on the bit over his nose but will get used to it. Very little control is needed to bring him back in line and it should stop his tendency to bark and people who only want to stroke him! Would recommend it

Have just walked Tobey for the first time using the Canny Collar. All I can say is that I wish I'd invented the darn thing! Its like walking a different dog!!
The ultimate test was meeting a couple with two carrier bags each. Normally he would have leapt at them barking but with his new collar he sat quietly while they stroked him and told him what a lovely doggy he is!!

Oh I love it. IF I get around to skijoring with Kaige when he's older (I have to learn to ski first lol) or even rollerblading with him I'll be sure to check them out a little more. Thanks!
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.
