    PT Prayers Worked for Aidan!

Some of you may remember when I first posted about Aidan's arrival that there were some issues the pediatrician was worried about - the biggest one being a chromosomal issue. Before we even left the hospital with Aidan, they had taken blood to do testing on to see what we would be up against. Aidan's pediatrician was leaning towards an association called CHARGE association (all capitals because it's an acronym) or VATER syndrome. Aidan has symptoms that correlate to both of these syndromes, but not all, so at the least we were hoping to hear that if he had either of these problems, it would be a mild "case". We've been waiting for the bloodwork results for 3 weeks.

About an hour ago, we got a call from Aidan's pediatrician. The chromosome bloodwork came back... and it was NEGATIVE!!! The pediatrician is stunned - at the least, he said he thought it'd come back as a No. 20 deletion (??) and at the most, positive for the CHARGE or VATER syndromes... but nope! Looks like the symptoms that he does have that correlate to those associations are separate and coincidental! He still wants us to see the Hopkins genetisist just to be safe, but it looks like we're in the clear!!!

Thank you for all your prayers, good thoughts and vibes! Looks like we dodged a bullet.

    Thanks!

To commemorate such good news, here's a brand-new picture of a newly washed Aidan getting fed by Daddy. (Believe it or not, his left eye is open... he just can't open it much. I think you can see pretty well from this picture that his eyeball itself is smaller than the other. But hey, if that's about all he'll have to deal with we'll deal!)
