AAAACK! Is this the teenage years??

Bijou has suddenly become some other dog! She eats any food she finds (right out of my daughter's cereal bowl), she scampers off into the wooded area that separates our backyard from the yard of the home behind us and pretends she doesn't hear us calling her, she chases and teases the cats to no end (she's always loved chasing the cats, but had become mellower about it and more responsive to my "Leave it!" command...until recently!), etc.

She's 15 months old...are we already starting a doggie's teenage years? I'd almost be glad if it were, that way, I can hope for an end to her extra-nutty behavior

    Thanks for any feedback/personal experiences

Sounds like Molly! And she's only 3 1/2 months..

Maybe I shouldn't have gotten a puppy.. haha

I have no experience, but good luck!! I hope someone helps ya out with the pretty Bijou.

It does sound like the teenage stages.

Obeying the NILIF (nothing in life is free) rules may help as well as a refresher obedience class. And of course patience & persisitance.

She's trying to challenge you again. Make sure she knows that she must obey you as you are top dog here.

I wouldn't let her outside unless she's on a lead until she learns to stay close by again & also learns her recall better again.

I'm sorry I have no personal experince as of yet (well I do but it's been so long & their teenage stages weren't bad thankfully lol I don't remember much). But I'm sure Kaige will be in the same footsteps in a few months. Gosh how time flies.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

Definitely the teenage stages!! Pups normally go through them around a year or so. Proper training and consistancy is needed now more than ever! I know it will be frustrating but if you feel the need to scream, do it into a pillow!
