    Olympus Stylus 410

Does anyone have, have used, or heard anything about this digital camera? I've had my Fuji Fine Pix A210 since last Christmas but I want something with more manual control and higher image quality. I took an online quiz to see which would be best for me and this one keeps popping up.

I just bought the Stylus 800. All my digitals have been Olympus cameras. So far I really like the 800.

My first digital was the Olympus c-50. It had the same type of lens cover the Stylus 410 has. I wore mine out and it can't be fixed. The camera still works and still takes great pics, but there is a trick to getting the lens to come out now. Not good when you want to shoot in a hurry! It did take almost 2 years of constant use to wear out though.

Also it is a point and shoot camera. You may get more features and shooting modes than your current camera, but you won't get more manual control. Everything is still pretty much automatic. I use my C-5060 when I want more manual control.

Thanks, Glacier. How are the Olympus cameras with action shots? Is the image quality crisp?

Most of them have a "sports" shooting mode that works great for action shots. My c-5060 has a a "my" setting that I have customized to include the action mode, a little higher sharpness setting and a slightly different white balance setting.

These are a couple of my favorite actions shots:

Taken with my old C-50 (Chum and Paxil racing)

Taken with the c-5060. Deuce and Raven playing(really, they were playing not killing each other!)

With the 800. Pacer was throwing his head around while he wooed. I liked this one as Pacer can be hard to photograph, especially against a white background like snow!

You didn't ask, but this was in portrait mode on the C-5060. My favorite pic ever of Muskwa.

    edited to add:
most of the time the only editing I have to do is resizing and occasionally a bit of increased contrast(mostly when I take pics of the solid black critters!)
