Amazing concert! Pictures and videos for U2 fans :D

This thread is for the U2 fans on the board, I know there's a few of you...if you don't like them, I don't want to hear about it, ok?

The U2 concert in Salt Lake City was last night...it was, of course, amazing! I've been to 4 U2 concerts now, this is the first on this tour though (now I reeeeaaally want to go see more! Who wants to go with me? ). We had GA tickets, which normally means waiting in line *all* day long to get a good spot. The Delta Center was very organized though...I got there at 6 am, I ended up getting number 49 in the fan club line, and they said everyone had to leave and couldn't wait. I went home but still ended up coming back around 2 because I'm paranoid, they did honor the numbers though so I got my place in line back. I went to see if I could catch them coming in for the soundchecks around 3:30 and they said they wouldn't be getting in until around 5:30 or later and once they organized the GA line they said nobody could leave so I didn't but arggh I should have because I know some people got to meet them. *pouts* Hey Zoe, I was going to call you but stupid me took the coats back to the car (and yes, we froze) and just had a blanket and your number was in my coat pocket

Anyway, we didn't end up getting scanned to get into the Ellipse, but we still got a good spot right on the rail on the other side of it. I think any U2 concert is incredible but a good floor spot is ahhh I can't even explain how wonderful it is. Ok I'll attempt to shut up now and show the pictures.

I have some short video clips too. I will attach them with the posts. These are *not* zoomed in, my video feature doesn't have a zoom

    And here comes The Edge

    Another screen shot

That's all of the pics and videos....my only disappointment was by the time I got out of the concert all of the merchandise was sold out, all I got was a pin. I think I'll be able to buy some it online though. Great concert!!

Oh My GOD!!!! *jealous* How cool is that??!!! What an awesome view! I have been dying to go to a U2 concert forever, but they always sell out quickly, and are way too expensive for me to afford, but dang...I bet it would be worth every penny for a view like that! OMG!

I'm glad you enjoyed the concert!

    **hugs**

Amy I am so happy for you that you got to see them up close and that you brought your camera too!
I forgive you for not calling me, the time zones were not in my favor anyway.
I did get to listen in to the whole concert anyway from the zoo broadcast.
I heard that Bono and Edge did come out before their soundcheck, it's too bad that they were running late so the people in GA missed them.
Great photos and videos! You were so close!
You even got a rare photo of Larry laughing and smiling!
    What was your favorite song?
Did you save some confetti from City of Blinding Lights?
Wasn't Bono amazing on the drums!
Did Adam smile and flirt with you when he came by?
And Edge is just amazing to watch isn't he!
You can probably get T-shirts and stuff at the U2.com store.
I got my T-shirt there and the only things I bought at the concerts were a Vertigo Tour book and a One bracelet.
I don't think I ever posted my photos from the show in Boston in October.
I will have to see if I have any good ones to share.
And if you want to see more shows, I will go with you!
So should we go to Mexico or Australia to see them next time?
    RIP sweet Samantha

My favorite songs would have to be any they came out onto the Ellipse to sing lol. Love and Peace or Else was awesome. I did have some confetti and it was in my pocket...I forgot about it until you mentioned it, and it's gone now. I hope it's in my car or something ack. Yeah Adam did smile, he reached down to people on either side of us (never right where we were for any of them grr)...of course Edge is amazing to watch. They handed out One bracelets to the GA sign for free. U2.com does have a few shirts and a tour book but it says it's from the first leg I wasn't sure if it's different for this leg, but I'll probably end up ordering it anyway. They don't have the shirt I wanted though. Are you serious about going with me, because I was honestly thinking of flying to Australia!!

No, I haven't...been close during concerts but not actually met them. That must be accomplished before I die lol. If you have some money to waste you can certainly go somewhere and see them with me.

Awesome pictures. I'm glad you got to have such a good time. That sucks you weren't able to get any merch.

You've actually got me to like them a bit. Not as much as you of course, but i'd probably go to one of their concerts (not sure I could afford to, though!) You should fly down here if/when they come here.

They played "Sweetest Thing" on the radio at work the other day - we have a game where we shout out the name of the band who sings the songs they play. I totally beat everyone in naming that one thanks to you.

Here's the tour book that I got in Boston in May and the U2.com membership card with Edge's autograph on it.

I also have a few photos from the October show that I will post tomorrow.
I wish I could go to Australia. I bet Captain wouldn't mind picking us up at the airport and letting us stay at her house to sleep after the concert.
Actually for me it was hard enough to travel 4 hours to the Boston shows and find someone to watch the kids and to get time off from work for both me and my husband. For me I will have to wait until they do their next US tour.
