    Dog Rescue Questions

Does anyone else voulenteer at a rescue?
Does anyone else rescue dogs from a rescue center?

Did you know: If the world was one shelter instead of broken up ones, 5,000 dogs are killed per second?

Did you know only 40% of dogs in the world are adopted from the shelter?

My two are from local non-profit rescues. They're our first rescued dogs and have turned out to be wonderful. We dont foster, mostly because we would have trouble giving them up, and its expensive to be buying food for them, leashes, toys, etc. I dont volunteer though. I may when i move back up north.

I *adopted* Giselle. I did not rescue her =) Well, I mean, I rescued her from a fashion faux pas, but was she ever in danger of euthanasia? Nope!

But yes, I do volunteer, and try to be active within our group.

I volunteer at a local shelter (used to volunteer at 2 more) and both Raustyk & Nanook are rescues!
4 of my ferrets are rescued and so is one of my dwarf hamsters.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

I used to volunteer at a shelter, but not since I started college. I still do some things for their special events.

Both of my GSD's were rescues.
One from a GSD rescue and the other I adopted from a local kill shelter.
I don't voulenteer at a shelter, but I drop off things all the time.
Paper towels, cleaning supplies, food, treats, collars, leashes... etc.

Mandy and Luka are both rescues. Mandy came from a kill shelter and Luka from the humane society. Luka was never in danger of being put down, so I didn't rescue her, she had already been rescued. However, by adopting her I made room for a little Bichon mix who was a Hurrican Katrina victim.

I also volunteer regularly at the humane society. It's just the best feeling in the world
