Be Computer Safe , Help yourself to Freeware:

I dont like norton or mcaffee or the other big name antivirus programs, they take up to much in the background and dont get eveything..I have both and dont use them any more..these are 3 things I use to help me keep my compter safe..
First I have 2 harddrives..One has what i want saved on it its the biggest.
the other has my windows on it and installed programs..
This way if something happens I only have to reformat the smaller 40 gig and dont lose my stuff, all my programs are saved on cds or already on cds. And when i have the 40 gig back up my big harddrive still has eveything save on it that im useing or keeping there for some reason..
    I always run..
    AD AWAre..http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Free AVG for virues and trojans..http://www.aboutlyrics.com/Software/...ee-Edition.php
    Free Zone Alarm ...http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conten...eeDownload.jsp
    Spybot search and destory..http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html
These 3 programs dont take up a lot space or ram..and they dont take over your computer..I dont reccomend updating the zone alarm once you have it..with it you can stop programs from accessing the internet without your permission and causing alot of problems..its a fire wall with a bit more to it..spybot will ask your permission evey time something trys to be added to your registery.I clean up peoples computers and upgrade them for them, and they have a lot less problems if they run the adaware prog often and keep it updater and also the AVG is updated for free..Im not a smart person but these programs are a really big help when your all over the web..hope they help some one..PLESE READ ABOUT THEM..ESP THE SPYBOT THERE ARE WAYS OF SETTING IT UP TO HELP MORE..

    - Microsoft AntiSpyware
    - AVG AntiVirus
    - PeerGuardian

I have all and run them all on my comp together and all work beautifully!

PeerGuardian basically just monitors what accesses your computer and you can tune it to block ANYTHING you don't allow. It blocks IP addresses, potential hackers, etc. It's much like a firewall but more flexible!
