    Blue Heron pics

While we were at the park this past weekend I got a couple shots of a crane or blue heron. I don't know how to tell the difference between the 2 & it is a little hard to see but thought I'd share it with you all. If anyone knows if this is a crane or blue herron can you let me know?

(S)he let me walk almost right up to him. But I accidently zoomed my camera out before I sanpped the last picture making it look like I am further away.

I tried to zoom in on it but my programs do not zoom in. So the pic are the original size to show the bird better.

i found this on a web site maybe it helps since you saw her/him for a while

Many people confuse the heron with the sandhill crane. A way to tell the difference between them is that when a great blue heron flies, it has a crooked neck and the crane always keeps its neck straight out

and a pic of a blue heron

Ok it was a blue heron, the neck was crooked when it was in flight. Thats a neat fact! Thanks for sharing that! I see quite a few around here & always wonder if they are herons or cranes.
