How do you make your dog tired?

What kinds of things do you do to make your dog tired?

Sunday is agility night, so I always do lots to wear out Visa before we go. If I don't wear her out before we go to agility, she doesn't behave as well or keep her focus. So Sundays are the day that we go out and do everything I can think of to get rid of some of that energy.

We just went to the beach for an hour. That's the best exercise for her because she just runs and runs and chases the waves and acts so silly. I threw the ball in for her lots too (don't worry, I got pictures! ). Then later we will go to the dog beach and go jogging, and of course we'll do some backyard agility.

What do you do to make your dog tired? Visa is sleeping right now, but I know that she will be re-energized soon... She IS a Belgian afterall..

Winston get's tired after about a half hour of chasing a ball and an hour of running around with Keeva.

Keeva's tired after playing with either Winston or Tango for a couple hours, but then she just takes a 20 minute nap and she's ready to start all over...lol

Tango...It's almost impossible to tire her out! She gets about 2 really long walks a day and we take her to play frisbee or ball at a nearby field once or twice a day aswell. After all of that, she comes home, drinks some water and lays down for about 10 minutes and is ready to go again. Once she realizes I'm not going to take her for another hour or more walk she goes and plays with Winston or Keeva and after all of that, she's still not tired and is ready to play some more! We also take her to an off leash park about 4 times a week or so. Of course, she does sleep sometimes but that's not because she's tired, it's just because I'm on the computer or something and she has no choice....

Tia's tired after running a lap or 2 around the house, she's not an overly active dog and would much rather sleep the day away unless we go camping or something where she can look for squirrels and gophers.

Shadow gets tired just walking up the stairs lol. She can usually handle a walk around the block and thats about it.

Micki is a little harder to tire out, I usually take him rollerblading and the little guy can pull me non stop forever!

Mini is tired after a 2 mile bikeride, she also loves to go rollerblading but doesn't have as much stamina as Micki.

Jack can go for a 2 mile bike ride to a huge open field, run off leash for a while and then the 2 mile bike ride home and is whipped but after a quick nap he wants to do it all over again.

Kyra can play fetch forever and never seems to get tired, or play frisbee, I don't think I've ever seen her completely worn out.

I give Tito and Bo a new toy, and they spend hours chasing each other non-stop.

I also take Tito for bike rides to the beach, he loves it.

I just let them go outside, if its fenced in then they get to run to their heart's content. Otherwise I tie Charlie on the tie out and let him and Jamie just run around. Otherwise sometimes a trip to the beach for swimming or just a long car ride to petsmart tires them out. SOMEtimes.

I take Finn swimming! Or play fetch, but, the only thing that tires him out before me is to take him kayaking.

Pulling! 6 of mine just ran 18km pulling the ATV. They are good and tired now. Won't last long, but it's quiet for a little while!

nothin beats a trip to the dog park and gigantic zoomies- meeting a small fast dog that loves to be chased usually helps, too. LOL! Sometimes long walks around the top of the resevoir. Sometimes just a lengthy game of fetch here in the yard will suffice.

The best way to tire Gonzo out (and the easiest for me) is to just spray the hose around on the lawn. He races back and fourth biting it, and he will literally chase the jet of water for hours... I think he would die of exhaustion chasing the hose if we let him

Swimming is also the BEST exercise in the summer, because it's no-impact and he loves it more than anything. We throw a tennis ball or his foamy frisbee thing over 100 feet out at our local lake, and he brings it back over and over!

I take Snowy for a walk twice a day. But ofcourse walking is not enough to tire her out. I let her run around the garden where she chases everything that moves. We play fetch when there are no other dogs around but what Snowy really likes is playing with other dogs her size - that really tires her out

I still take Snowy for a walk before her obediance and agility training.

Um...there is NO way I can ever make Blaze tired, lol! I could play fetch and walk him all day, and he only stops for short breaks every once in a while...ha.

    Thanks Kay!!
