I have volunteered to make the litterbox cake for our church halloween party but I can't seem to find the recipe on PT. Can anyone help me out?

Here's the one I found. I know Debbie has one, and it was really good!

1 SPICE or GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE MIX
    1 WHITE CAKE MIX
    1 pkg WHITE SANDWICH COOKIES
1 large pkg VANILLA INSTANT PUDDING MIX
    GREEN FOOD COLORING
    12 small TOOTSIE ROLLS
    1 new KITTY LITTER BOX
1 new KITTY LITTER BOX LINER
    1 new POOPER SCOOPER

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).

Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.

Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. [*** see below]

To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork or shake in a jar.

When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, mix with the cake and "feel" it, you don't want it soggy, just moist; gently combine.

Line new, clean kitty litter box. Put mixture into litter box.

Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly.

Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture.

Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.

Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, 3 at a time, in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs.
**This is my addition--only spread 5 of the remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box; sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs.**

Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around.

Serve with a new pooper scooper.

yes, that cake is a riot! I made it once for an office gathering and at first people were very wary, but, once the ice was broken, it went like hotcakes!

It is awesome! I made it a few years back and haven't made it since as I lost my recipe. This one is going to be printed and put into the recipe binder immediately when I get home tonite. You do get some strange looks but it tastes soooo good!

You mean me Debbie? Way too many Debbie's around here.

Here's the one I have, and it looks identical to Kays. I think this cake is a hoot and would be the first to dive in at a party and gross everyone out.

--A SPECIAL CAT RECIPE - KITTY LITTER CAKE!
(Created by Mike and Linda Will)

At least once a year I have to share this recipe
with you - just so you won't forget about it and
just in case some of the newer readers haven't
seen this yet. To some of you it will be totally
"gross" but to others it will be a fun thing to
do and a good joke. So, if you've seen this
before and don't approve, that's okay, just pass
it on by and get to the next article. It's all meant
to be in good fun. (No scolding e-mails, please, okay?)

So, if you're ready to bake - show the world what
    a "purr-fect" cook you are.

    --INGREDIENTS:
--1 spice or German chocolate cake mix (include
    ingredients listed in mix)

--1 white cake mix (include ingredients listed in mix.)

    --1 pkg. white sandwich cookies

--1 large pkg. vanilla instant pudding mix (include
    ingredients listed on mix.

    --green food coloring

    --12 small Tootsie Rolls

--1 brand new and clean kitty litter box

--1 brand new and clean kitty litter box liner

--1 brand new and clean kitty litter scoop

    --DIRECTIONS:
--1. Prepare cake mixes according to package directions.
    (Any size cake pans.)

--2. Prepare pudding mix according to package directions
and chill until ready to use. Crumble white sandwich
cookies in small batches in blender. (Scrape often,
they tend to stick.) Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To
this 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops of green
food coloring and mix using a fork or by shaking in
    a jar.

--3. When the cakes are cooled to room temperature,
crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of
the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled
pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding.
Mix it with the cake and feel it; you don't want it
    soggy, just moist. Gently combine.

--4. Line a new, clean kitty litter box. Put mixture
    into litter box.

--5. Put three unwrapped Tootsie Rolls in a microwave
safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape
ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly.
Repeat with 3 more Tootsie Rolls and bury these in
    the mixture.

--6. Sprinkle the other half of the cookie crumbs over
the top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly
over the top. This is supposed to resemble the
    chlorophyll in the litter.

--7. Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, 3 at a time in the
microwave until almost melted. Spread them on top of
the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Or, only
spread 5 of the remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top.
Take one and heat until pliable, and hang it over the
side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly
    with cookie crumbs.

Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the
cookie crumbs around. Serve with the new scoop. Enjoy!

OK... my dear readers.... Real cat lovers won't get too
    grossed out, right?

This is a real recipe with real food, and is a lot of
fun to make and is delicious to eat! But the real fun
of it all is watching the reactions of other people as
they look at for the first time, and then realize what
it is. Their reactions will range from "How GROSS, I
can't believe you'd make such a thing!" to "Oh, isn't
that CUTE!" Can I have the recipe!

This is the first that I have heard of this! I will bring it to our next agency carry-in!

I can hardly wait to see eveyrone's face.... as I am the resident cat lady in the office!

By the way.... yesterday, one of my co-workers sneezed, and I said, "God bessou", just as I would say it to one of my furrbabies if she sneezed! I immediately corrected myself with the correct way to say it! She just laughed and said, "I think you need to get out more often!"

I've always wanted to make the litterbox cake but never have. I think I will do it this haloween.

Does anyone know of any unscented litterbox liners? Thats all I can find around me. Or can I just leave the liner out?
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.
