    Advanced beginner?

I am always looking on the internet at horse ads that are for sale, but when it says *Needs an advanced begginer*, what does that exactly mean? What do you need to know or do to be an advenced beginner? Also, I am about 5 feet 3-4 inches tall, and there is this one horse that is about 14 hands... it sounds to short to me.. is it? I can't really get on tall horses, my legs aren't very fleixible!! But I probably won't grow very much anymore so I wont get any taller.. but yeah is 14 hands to short for me? or will it work? Thanks!

LOL "advanced beginner" sounds kind of contradictory to me. But I suppose it means you aren't quite novice, so you know the basics but you aren't an expert just yet.

14 hands might be ok for you. I'm 5' 4" and ride horses any where from 14 hands-17 hands. It just depends if your comfortable on the horse or not. It might not look as good for someone who is tall to be riding a pony in the show ring, but if you aren't showing it shouldn't be a problem.

An advanced begginner should be able to walk, trot, and canter comfortably. You'll also need to be able to handle the horse you are riding.

14 hands should be fine, as long as you're not over 150lbs (well, depending on the horse...). I'm 5'7 and my mare's only 14.3h. She's a pretty stout paint horse though.
Advanced beginner...you know at least what you're doing. Make sure you try out the horse first though.
