Splenda has a Drinking & Junk Food Problem

I need advise please.. Ok you all remember Splenda {the Walmart found kitten} well I have noticed for about 3 weeks now she has her head in the water bowls drinking alot.. Well then I noticed she always goes to the Temptations snack bowl & was only eating that & was not eating the normal Whiskas dry that is out all the time.. Now she eats her plate of Whiskas Pata for breakfast with the others.. But then goes straight to the Temeptaions treat bowl & also has had the runns.. I have also noticed she is not growing & looks to be 4 months old; but she is now 1 wk short of 6 months old.. Now she could be just a small cat.. She plays well & does not act like anything is wrong & her coat looks good & nose & eyes look good also.. Keep in mind we did all the test on her with her first Vet visit & all was negative.. Now I have taken the treat bowl up & her runns has slowed down & she is eating the normal dry better.. However this is punishing my other babies due to they dont understand why no treat bowl now.. Please any advise..

I have heard many times that Tender Vittles (semi-wet pouch food) works wonders on stopping diarrhea. Maybe they'll think of it as a treat food?

The only thing that really caught my attention is that there is actually a treat bowl that is full and available at all times? That couldn't happen at my house because it would continuously emptied!

Personally, I think hand dispensing the temptations is a much better way to keep control over how many are eaten and by whom. They are meant to be treats - not a major part of the kittys' diets - which might be the reason for the diarrhea, and why it has eased up a bit now that the temptations aren't available like before.

QSA - Tender Vittles, eh? I'll have to try that with CJ (yes, we're still battling his diarrhea ) although he does go in for allergy testing this Saturday and hopefully that will reveal something so we can get him on a proper diet already.

Oh, and one last thing lovpets2002, if Spenda's water habits to go back to normal with the change in diet, you might want to have her tested. There are several diseases that show up in increased water intake - diabetes and kidney failure among them. Not to alarm you, but just something to keep in mind.

Yes see that really was more of my concern was the water drinking.. The runns I am sure is from the treats.. But I have always heard a lot of water drinking was diabetes & or something internal wrong.. Oh I will keep good watch on her & will take her to the whitecoats if continues.. Thank you for the good advice..
