    Zazou is at the vets.......

Today is the day for my sweetie. I just brought her to the vet . The poor thing was hungry and thirsty, so it broke my heart because I was not allowed to give her anything. Today she will get her "zipper"... . Poor thing, her beautiful soft belly will be shaved.... ; I gave her tons of extra belly-rubs before I left her there, as this won't be possible for a few days now.
I cannot help it, but I am worried sick.... ! I know nothing about her medical history. How will she react when she gets sedated??? And no meowmie around to comfort her.... . If everything goes smoothly, she may come home this evening. I hope she won't be to groggy or sick.... !

She is only gone for an hour now, and I miss her terribly already. She has always been with me, since the day she arrived. The other cats may play outside in our garden, but Zazou always stayed with me. I will miss her contant headbumpies and soft meows today......

Please pray that everything goes fine !

I'm sure that Zazou's vet visit will be fine, but in any case, we'll keep all fingers and paws crossed for her.

Try not to worry, Lut. Remember, the vet has done this a million times before.

I'm sure Zazou will be just fine, this is a very routine procedure for vets. However, it isn't for Zazou, she'll only have it once, nor for you, so it is natural to be concerned. I always worry when my girls have to "go under" an anaesthetic, even for tooth cleaning!

I think what you will probably find though, is that she will have a very tiny scar, she will come home and be bouncing around within an hour or two, and you will be pulling faces at anticipated pain and she will be grinning all over her face and demanding her dinner! That's been my experience on two occasions when I've had young cats spayed, I'm simply amazed at how quickly they recover, within hours, not like us!!

Have something extra tempting for her dinner,if she wants it, and rest easy! Let us know how she goes.

The vet will also take away a "belly button rupture" (is this the correct term??). It didn't really bother Zazou, but now her belly will be much "flatter" and easier to rub . Zazou must have had this since her own birth, but her previous owners obviously didn't care about her health at all

The vet will give me a phone-call as soon as the operation is over and Zazou is waking up. I think she is operating right now .
Cannot wait to hear her say it all went well!!..... .

Poor Zazou - at least this is a one-time deal, and she'll be back home with Meowmy and the sisters in no time.

The vet called!! The operation went well!!
BUT, because of that belly button, she had to be kept sedated much longer, so she is not really well awake yet I may go and have a look at 8 pm, and if she well awake, she may come home; if not, she has to stay there for the night
    Her scar is larger than a normal one, so it will take her a bit longer to recover. My poor baby will feel very sore tomorrow.... ;

I'm glad to hear everything went well, but sorry to hear the belly button thing made things more difficult. Poor little Zazou, don't worry, you'll be back home and better than ever in no time!

    SHE IS HOME !!!!
She is completely groggy !! The vet said not to worry; this is because her operation was a double one, so it took much longer. I hope she will be okay tomorrow; she might be groggy for a whole day...!

But: she is HOME; where we can take care of her

I was just about to post that I was counting the hours until you got your baby home, but I see that she's already there! I'm so glad everything went well and that they let her come home so you can give her extra, special love and attention.

Oh Lut, I hope Zazou will recover beautifully. I know it is good to have her home so you can watch her carefully.

    Hugs and prayers.

I am glad to hear she's home and that everything went okay. My Abby went thru the same thing when she had to be spayed TWICE !! Because the 2nd spay was a longer one to figure out what they missed the first time. So she was very groggy for 1-2 days too but she bounced back, and so will Zazou ! So glad she is home

Lut, I'm glad to hear that Zazou's surgery went well and that she's now home. I hope that she makes a speedy recovery.
