You can stop it by putting some stuff in their food that will make their poop taste very unpleasant to them, and that can deter them from eating it lol. It's also helpful if you have cats to feed it to your cats so your dogs won't eat the cat poo either. I can't think of what the product is called off the top of my head though UGH

Deter is the name of one of the products they make, it's a powder & you sprinkle it on thier food. There are other brands with different names. You can get it at vets office's & I think some pet stores.

There are a few problems with this though:
    1. You have to make sure your dog eats it with every meal
    2. you have to make sure your dog eats the feces from those meals
    3. some dogs may like the taste of it, just like some dogs like bitter apple
    4. once you stop giving them the Deter (or whatever else you use) and your dogs happens to eat the feces then, then you have to start over again.

    The best solution is training.
Go out with then EVERYTIME they go out to potty, keep them on a leash. Teach them a "leave it" command. Teaching them a potty command would help a little too. I use "go potty". Say it when you let them out to potty, or RIGHT before they are about to potty. Once they finish PRAISE!
To teach the leave it command (which can be very helpful for lots other things too) you have to have your dog on a leash. Say "leave it", if your dog doesn't listen within 3 seconds say it again but this time reinfoce the behavior by gently pulling the dog away from the object. As soon as the dog ignores or leaves the object, even when you have to pull him to get him away PRAISE.

And of course pick up the feces right away too. This makes for clean up easy, no need to spend a half hour or so once a week picking it all up, forgeting where some piles are & stepping in them.

I taught Kaige this way & within 2 weeks (as a young puppy even) he learned. I haven't had to tell him to leave it since.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

Here's a link that someone had sent me. Has a couple of nice ideas, just depends on what works for you.
Luckily Bon grew out of it
    Good Luck!

PS...I think Forbid is another product
