    new collars!

well since I have very little money I am used to getting rather creative lol so how could I resist when my moms old purse was full of holes so she keps the straps and other still good parts and toss the rest. sooo using leather purse straps and old key rings I made these:

I desined them to work like martinagle collars, and they are fully adjustable

lol thanks! they will recieve the ultmate test of durabiliy tomorow when I try walking Misty with it lol Happys will hold up better as she does not pull, her ring(for attaching the leash) she is not as strong as I made Mistys, just because well the closer we get to the park the harder Misty pulls, when was it, when she was 5 months old I think ity was she pulled so hard her collar AND leash snapped, gthankfilly she does not pull THAT hard anymore, but she is the ultimate test for collar strength

Nice collars but why do you walk them in regular collars? Especially if they pull!

Very creative and nice looking too.

I do want to warn you that most normal key ring rings do not hold up well. Thats what I use for my dogs tags, instead of the s-hooks. A few times over the years,my mother or friend or I have hooked her leash to them by accident & they broke as soon as Raustyk or Nanook started to pull. They don't hold up well at all.
You can however buy similar clasps (like the squarer one on that collar & other shapes) in most hardware stores for usually 50 cents to a dollar or so and they are more durable.

You may want to test it out in your yard. Or if your dogs have a good recall test it at the park, just please bring an extra collar just in case.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

lol I will be bringing extra collars, Happy does not pull, just Misty, she is getting much better though, but just in case I equipped her with MUCH stronger key rings lol like those big heavy duty things, and I have an even stronger one I can always attach if needed. I will be taking them to a park to run anyway, and I Misty will be wearing an extra collar just in case, for Happy it really does not matter she walks off leash all the time lol

ok update, I just got back from the walk. HAppys held up perfectly, Misty had a couple glitches, nothing not easily fixable though, her first leash ring broke before we got out of the yard, I simpley switched to the extra strong ring which held up without a problem, the second glitch was the adjusting ring came loose, but that was my own fault I forgot to attach it properly lol the martingale design worked perfectly, and they both passed the durablity test

    Cool! I'm glad they worked!

Those are cute! I am glad they worked, we use a harness for Buster because he pulls so much and we use one for Ginger, too. Jenny needs a harness, but my mom says they don't make 'em in her size. Okay, sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Those look really nice, and I'm glad they work!

The only thing is while the rings may be durable, I highly suggest you not use cotton thread because it does rot.
