Thread: Opie update!

    Opie update!

    Opie got sick last week. Poor baby wouldn't eat or drink and was running a fever. I took him to the shelter vet and she gave fluids and antibiotics. I still couldn't get him to eat and was forcing food and water and I hated doing that! So I decided to take him to my vet and have him checked out. It was just a virus that had to run its course but while I was there he checked Opie's leg for me and he said that there was no sign of his injury anymore! YIPPEE!!!
    During the exam the vet gave me some info that shocked the stuffins out of me......

    Opie is a GIRL

    My chin hit the floor, hubby looked stunned, and I said "well, I guess we know why his testicles haven't dropped!!!"

    I thought I had a red headed, big eared little boy but instead I've got a big eared little GIRL! Since Opie already knows HER name we won't change it. Since they recorded Opie at the shelter as a boy its obvious that I'm not the only one thats not very good at sexing kittens!!!

    Hubby tells Opie all the time that she is the ugliest little girl he ever saw. Her ears are big, her feet are too big, her legs are too long, and her back end is still really skinny. He tells her that she has a face that only we could love. He's so funny with Opie and she absolutely adores him.

    Thats the newest info on Opie! I guess I better get her appointment for a spay instead of a nueter!!

    Well, you know about the Ugly Duckling...Opie just needs to grow into all her oversized parts! She's going to be a BIG girl!

    Opie honey, you are not ugly! You are a sweet little girl who will grow into a big beautiful cat.

    TOO FUNNY!!!! She really does look like a boy in her pictures too...maybe it's time you start taking closeups of the rearends now? You could always rename her "Ophelia" She is adorable for a girl lol!

    Opie is adorable, even in her "Ears & legs too long for body" stage I'm glad her leg is better!

    Wow! A little orangie girl. I think that Opie's a very cute kitten and I'm sure that she'll turn into a goregous cat. I'm also glad to hear that her leg is healed. You could always call her Opal since it sounds a lot like Opie.
