My SammyJ dont Play?????

He does not play at all.
He loves walks
never runs away
always obeys
But does not play any thing???

I have tried to teach him tug and ball and fetch and he just looks at it and lays down, no amout of treats can make him fetch..lol..
He will sit , lay ,go ,come,hide his face,and almost shake paw with you, still wroking on that.
any ideas???

How old is SammyJ? Sometimes treats don't work as rewards. Sometimes they prefer praise. Also maybe there is a different type of play you can try. Some dogs just won't fetch. Maybe if it is possible you and a friend of relative could spend some time playing with him by sitting on the floor and rolling the ball back and forth or standing and bouncing the ball back and forth between you. Maybe the interaction will stimulate him and make him want to play too. I am sure others will have other ideas for you. Good luck and keep us posted.

I will try that with my daughter with the ball..its a funny thing he gets so excited when i come home or someone comes over but it dont last long..He will be 3 in october..he has never been one to paly, but i have been trying to work with him and nothing helps..
So I thought I would ask. I have tride tug and the only thing he will tug with is the blanket or my dress, he dont tear, but he gets bored with it really quick..Stange to me.. But then he is not a very hyiper dog. hes bichon/shi so sweeet you just want to eat him u with kisses.. This is the first dog I have had of my own. My kids had outdoor dogs when they were young but I worked all the time and never paid to much attention except to the GreatDane/Mastaf we had he was very sweet and I miss I for sure. Even though it was a long time ago..you dont forget do you?? I had a 5 year old pom that was stolen about 25 years ago he was my youngest daughters, she always has dogs and my oldest and middle daughters always have animals. My middle daugher has goats and chickens and getting a dog. The goats are funny..lol..well thank you will keep trying. heres the sig changed let me know if the size is right, ok?? Thanks PJ

my doggy won't play eitrher unless with a soccer ball
