    beta fish, need response asap

How can i tell if i have a male beta or a female beta. See, i have 2, but 1 is bigger than the other 1. We just bought the big 1, i put it in the tank with the liitle 1, while it was still in the bag, they both puffed up real big. Can they both go in the same tank???

Male bettas have longer, flowing fins.
    Females have shorter ones.

They cannot go in the same tank either way. Keep them seperated. Female and male Bettas will breed. Male and male Bettas will fight.

Absolutely DO NOT put them in the same tank.

    Female betta

    Male Betta

you cannot keep male bettas in the same tank. Females you can. And if you have a male and female I would not suggest putting them in the same tank together either.

  4. Here are my females...

And here is my newest male...

See how my male has more vibrant colours and longer, free-flowing fins? Please, PLEASE, do not put them in the same tank. The smaller may be a female as well, mine are quite small. As well, do you see a little bulge under the little fins in front? It is an egg sac, thats a female. Also, the 2 fins in front, are SMALLER on females while again, the males are MUCH longer and pull underneath him while he swims. Females do not flare as much as the males and have smaller gills...

    Go away!
    Kelly,
I'm not too sure on that this time. I did notice that this person signed in a little while ago and did check this thread. I have also noticed that usually when we are dealing with a "troll" they never sign in a second time. I think I am willing to give this one the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. This person has also been registered since the 8th of this month. Usually our trolls are registered the same day as their one and only posts.
