    "Foster" Opie update and pics

Ok, Catnapper Kim have at it. I am admitting that foster Opie is no longer a foster. He's officially Brat number 13!!!
Hubby and I agree that we simply can't give him up and it would severely upset Rosco to lose his new best buddy.

Opie is doing very well. He is almost cage free all the time now and the vet would kill me if she knew! He is a happy happy baby and I think the physical therepy is good for his leg. I just pray that I'm right and not hurting him in any way. He rips and runs and his limp is almost completely gone. He still doesn't like you to rub too hard on his back end so I guess there is still some tenderness there.

Also the little guy's cotton balls are not filling out and look a little strange to me. I want to be able to keep him here and give him time for them to hopefully drop so he won't have to have such invasive surgery. I know that happens sometimes but in Opie's case I can't help but wonder if the damage to his back end by the car didn't have something to do with it. I would like to give him all the time he needs!

    Here is the little squirt!

He's at that "my ears are too big and my legs are too long" stage.

I sit cross legged and stretch my t-shirts over my knees and make a hammock that Opie loves to sleep in.

In this picture you can see how skinny that one back leg is and how bony his back end is staying. I'm sure he will fill out one of these days.

Magoo found out that Opie was Brat #13 and he gave him a high five!

    Just being cute!

I told Opie that he never had to go back to the shelter again and he gave me a wink and a smile. He already knew that!!!

Well that's the Dopey Opie boy! Yes, we are all madly in love and he is one very sweet little boy.

AWWW!!! Lucky #13!!! Opie is just too precious for words Lisa. He reminds me soooo much of the tiny Opie I should have kept five + years ago. I have pictures somewhere of my lil' rescue when he had to wear a cast that was so huge for his size (he was all of 6 weeks when kids used him in a tug-of-war). Man I miss that rascal. He healed up well, and recovered here long enough to overcome his limp. If I had dishes soaking in the sink, Opie would fish the soaking wet sponge out of the water, and take off running with water pouring down his chest lol! Give ooodles of kisses to your new baby for me..he's adorable.

Lisa I'm so glad Opie fell into you and your husbands arms. I know he will thrive there! He looks so much like our LarryJerry! I just love the winking picture.

Jan your little Opie story sounds so much like this little Opie. He is honored to share the name and I swear it fits him perfectly! Thank you for suggesting the name and now you can watch this little Opie grow up!

I'm sure your little Opie is very happy in his furrever home and thanks you for taking care of him when he needed you the most.

LOL... what can I say to you... only that I am reading between the lines and seeing that perhaps Leroy Jr. would be upset to see his new best friend leave. Don't worry, as I'm sure she's as much a "foster" as Opie is. Why do you think I jumped at the chance to foster her sisters --- so I can at least have two fosters leave my house this kitten season!

I'm so glad I'm not the only foster mom failing miserably here!

He's such a cutie and I think Opie looks like the perfect name for him.

I'm glad to hear it's official and you're calling him #13. We all knew that would happen. What lucky little guy!

Welcome Home Opie !!!! You have the best home you could possibly have with lots of kitty brothers and sisters to help teach you things you need to know (like how to be nawtee, and cute but looks like you have those things under control already). Then on top of all the kitty family you have 2 great purrents that will love you to pieces and spoil you rotten. Have fun in your furrever home little Opie. You are simply too cute for words.

P.S. Good work on working your kitty magic on meowmie and pawpie and making them realize you were already home and didn't need to go anywhere else.
